After taking out all the medicinal pills, the cooperation between the Xiao Clan and Yao Lao officially formed.
During the subsequent profit distribution negotiations, Xiao Zhan, ever cautious, suggested a 9:1 split, with Yao Lao receiving nine parts and the Xiao Clan one. This showed how competent Xiao Zhan was as a clan leader, able to maintain his integrity even in the face of such temptation.
However, Xiao Zhan did not know that Yao Lao was representing Xiao Yan, so he wouldn't take advantage of the Xiao Clan. If it weren't for concerns of arousing suspicion, Yao Lao wouldn't have hesitated to give the Xiao Clan all the profits.
Finally, they agreed to a 50-50 split. The entire Xiao Clan was overjoyed.
With both Yao Lao and Mo Yu aiding them, the Xiao Clan's crisis could not only be resolved but they could also take a step forward in the power dynamics of Wu Tan City.
After securing over a thousand bottles of healing medicine from Yao Lao, the Xiao Clan didn't publicize it immediately. Instead, they waited for Mo Yu to finish refining the Thunder Fire Beads, then began secretly preparing for their counterattack against the Jia Lie Clan.
In the next three days, the Xiao Clan quietly gathered materials for the Thunder Fire Beads, collecting 500 sets. During this time, Mo Yu worked tirelessly on crafting the items. However, with his strength as a five-star Dou Zhe, the fatigue was negligible. Moreover, this continuous refining only made Mo Yu more proficient in the art.
As the Xiao Clan lay low for these three days, the Jia Lie Clan became increasingly arrogant, employing various underhanded tactics to try and lure the remaining merchants away from the Xiao Clan's market.
Although the Jia Lie Clan noticed that the Xiao Clan was secretly purchasing crafting materials, they dismissed it, believing the Xiao Clan couldn't pull off anything significant.
In response to these provocations, the Xiao Clan remained silent. In this tense atmosphere, three days passed quietly.
Another bright, sunny day dawned. The Jia Lie Clan's market was bustling as usual, with people flooding the streets. At the stall selling Rejuvenation Powder, the crowds were particularly chaotic, with shouts, curses, and even fights breaking out as people vied for the healing medicine.
Behind the sales stall, the Jia Lie Clan members smirked as they watched the mercenaries fight for the pills. Their expressions were filled with smug satisfaction, reveling in the power the medicine had given them.
The sales of Rejuvenation Powder had far exceeded the Jia Lie Clan's internal expectations. Tempted by these enormous profits, they became more and more greedy. They raised the price of Rejuvenation Powder from 100 gold coins per box to 300, tripling the price.
Although this price hike caused a backlash at first, since the Jia Lie Clan was the only one selling this medicine, the mercenaries, despite their anger, had no choice but to reluctantly accept being gouged.
However, today, something changed.
Amid the frenzied crowd, a voice suddenly rang out.
"The Xiao Clan's market is also selling healing medicine!"
"Not only that, they have Thunder Fire Beads for sale as well!"
As expected, these people were spies planted by the Xiao Clan to spread the news, marking the beginning of the Xiao Clan's counterattack.
Upon hearing these shouts, the previously noisy and chaotic Jia Lie Clan market fell into silence. Although the healing medicine was one thing, the name Thunder Fire Bead carried significant weight. Many mercenaries had relied on these beads to escape death on numerous occasions.
In fact, compared to healing medicine, the mercenaries valued Thunder Fire Beads far more, as it was a tool that could save lives.
However, the news was so sudden that many of the mercenaries found it hard to believe. After all, the Xiao Clan had been too subdued recently, and no one thought they could produce such valuable items.
Seeing the doubt in the crowd, one of the Xiao Clan's spies jumped onto a nearby stone, drew his blade with a clang, and slashed a wound across his arm.
Raising his bleeding arm, the man tilted a green bottle, and a thick, dark red liquid slowly poured out, covering the wound.
As the red liquid seeped into the cut, the blood began to slow and, within moments, stopped entirely. In front of everyone's eyes, the blood coagulated into a thin layer of scab over the wound.
Witnessing this scene firsthand, the crowd's eyes burned with excitement. This fast-acting blood-stopping medicine was perfect for use on missions!
Not stopping there, the spy pulled out a black bead with intricate patterns from his pocket. Upon seeing the bead, the crowd's eyes lit up even more. It was the Thunder Fire Bead, which had become incredibly popular in Wu Tan City recently.
"This is the Xiao Clan's latest product, Coagulation Powder! It's not only more effective than Rejuvenation Powder, but it's also half the price! And we're selling Thunder Fire Beads too! What are you waiting for? If you're late, you'll miss out!" The spy laughed loudly, showing off the jade bottle and the Thunder Fire Bead.
The street fell silent for a moment.
Then, a mercenary who had just entered the market stared at the items in the man's hand. After a moment of hesitation, he suddenly bolted towards the exit...
Watching the figure disappear, the rest of the crowd erupted into motion, surging towards the Xiao Clan's market in waves, leaving the Jia Lie Clan's market nearly deserted in a matter of seconds. Only the dumbfounded merchants remained behind in the empty streets.
"The Xiao Clan... has begun their counterattack."
As the merchants stared at the empty streets, a single thought flashed through their minds.
They exchanged glances and then turned their eyes toward the Jia Lie Clan pavilion. Panic had begun to set in among them.
The Xiao Clan had not only produced a more effective healing medicine than Rejuvenation Powder, but they also had Thunder Fire Beads. As long as they had enough supply, the Jia Lie Clan was as good as defeated!
At the same time, similar scenes were unfolding in the other Jia Lie Clan markets...
