Chereads / Became the Judge Princess in My New Life / Chapter 2 - II: Black dress

Chapter 2 - II: Black dress

I took a quick bath, brushed my hair a little bit and chose one of the most simple dresses that I can find in her closet. And it's totally hard to find the simple one, cause almost all of them are really big, glamorous, and colorful.

I got dressed in this black short dress, and got out from the this room,

Remember Eden, today you are Seraphine Coraline Ellysia– Gosh! Her name is too long, let's call her Seraphine Brightwater. A princess, I haven't found more information about where I actually am.

After preparing my mind, I decided to leave Seraphine's enormous room. That lady from earlier stood in front of the door, it looked like she had been waiting for me.

"Your Highness, are you okay now?" I just nodded a little bit, and tried to give a smile to assure her that I'm fine.

The palace looked amazing, the palace that looked like it came straight out of a storybook. The palace was like something out of a dream, all white and gold, so bright it almost hurt to look at. My eyes were drawn to the grand staircase first—smooth marble steps with veins of gold and a railing carved so intricately it felt alive. I couldn't help but reach out, my fingers brushing against the cold, solid stone just to prove it was real. Sunlight poured in through the massive windows, making everything shimmer like it was dipped in magic.

As I climbed the stairs, I couldn't stop myself from looking up. The ceiling was impossibly high, painted with soft clouds and golden stars that seemed to move in the flickering light of the chandeliers. It was beautiful and overwhelming, like the palace itself was trying to welcome me and show off at the same time. Every step revealed more—tapestries on the walls that seemed to glow, and gold details everywhere, so fine they almost didn't seem real.

Then I reached the top and stepped into the main hall, and I had to stop and take a breath. The room was huge, bigger than anything I could've imagined, with golden columns stretching up to the sky and sunlight streaming through massive windows. The floor was so polished I could see my reflection, and the chandelier above sparkled like a thousand tiny stars. It felt like stepping into another world, one too perfect to exist.

And then I saw the people. The hall was alive with elegant gowns and tailored suits, laughter and conversation filling the air. Golden vases overflowed with flowers that smelled like spring. I felt small, like I didn't belong in a place this perfect, but I couldn't stop staring, trying to take it all in before it slipped away like a dream.

My heart pounded as I realized tens of people in this room were looking at me. Their eyes were filled with expectation, and then, almost in unison, they bowed and curtsied, their heads lowering in respect. A voice boomed from the front of the hall, where a man dressed in rich robes stood, holding a large goblet.

"Happy birthday, Princess Seraphine!" With Unison they shouted that.

I blinked, my mind spinning. Princess Seraphine. That was me now. Today was my—her—10th birthday. I looked down at myself, took a shaky breath, trying to steady myself. This wasn't a dream; it was real. I was in the body of a princess, and this was her life. A life filled with grandeur, respect, and all these people here to celebrate me– Us.

The man with the goblet raised his glass high. "To our beloved Princess, may she grow in wisdom and grace!"

The crowd echoed his words, their voices ringing out in a joyful chorus. I smiled nervously and nodded, feeling the weight of their gazes. I knew I should probably say something, but my mind was blank. What did you say when you were suddenly thrust into a princess's body on her 10th birthday?

All the people dressed in beautiful dresses and fancy coats, almost similar to what we usually see in movies, but here all people looked more alive. Almost all the men had beards, and the women styled their hair vintage. Maybe in this era, their style can't be called vintage, I'm sure it was the trendiest in this time.

I took another step forward, the room seeming to grow even larger around me. A woman, dressed in a beautiful gown of deep green and gold, stepped forward and offered me a gentle smile. She had the same blond hair and striking blue eyes that I now saw reflected in the polished marble floor. "Happy birthday, my darling," she said softly, reaching out to take my hands in hers. Her touch was warm and familiar, and it sent a strange mix of emotions through me—comfort, confusion, and a pang of longing.

"Th-thank you," I stammered, trying to find my voice. "Mother."

She beamed at me, her eyes shining with pride. "We have a wonderful day planned for you. Everyone has come to celebrate your special day."

I glanced around again at the smiling faces, the elegant decorations, and the grandiosity of it all. It was overwhelming, but I nodded, forcing myself to smile back. I could do this. I had to do this. I was Seraphine now, the princess, and today was my 10th birthday.

Taking a deep breath, I let her—my—mother guide me forward into the room, the eyes of the guests following my every move. This was my new life, and I was about to step into it fully, surrounded by the splendor of the white and gold palace and the love of these people who saw me as their princess.

As I sat on the throne with the royal family, One by one the guests came to the front and gave me gifts and I followed the queen giving a thank you gesture and a soft smile.

The kingdom worker, maybe he is a butler, calls their ranking, job and name.

I tried to remember them, but I just can't remember The king's counselor and the princess teacher, and it means He is my teacher, maybe he is in his early twenties, and he is the son of the King's counselor.

After all that, "The princess will give the speech"

My mind suddenly went blank, what speech should I give?
