Chapter 22 - epic fight

Chapter 22 epic fight

The cathedral is a battlefield of broken stone and collapsing arches, and its vast hall has become a chaotic wasteland of dust and debris. Two figures stand amid the devastation, their forms moving with the sluggishness of exhaustion, yet their eyes burn with undying resolve. The knight of light, his once-pristine armor now dented, smeared with dust, and scuffed by countless impacts, clutches his longsword tightly.

His breathing is ragged, his movements slower, but his gaze remains fixed on his monstrous opponent. Across from him, the towering Warden's dark carapace is cracked in several places, and its clawed hand still smokes from the burn inflicted by the relic. Yet, its single, crimson eye burns fiercely, refusing to relinquish its goal.

The two warriors circle each other, their steps cautious and heavy. The knight's armor glows faintly, as if fueled by the last embers of the goddess's light, while the Warden's spear, though chipped and dull, still pulses with dark energy. The air between them is thick with tension, the only sounds are the distant crumble of stone and the unholy hum that emanates from the Warden's form.

Each knows they have little left to give, but they are unwilling to yield. They launch forward, their weapons colliding in a burst of sparks that lights up the ruined cathedral. The force of their blows shakes what remains of the shattered walls, sending clouds of dust billowing into the air.

Unnoticed by the two combatants, a Cruz lies huddled in the nearby rubble, a frail silhouette against the chaos., his body broken and bruised by the violence that has torn through the sacred space. His once-plain robes are now tattered, and blood drips from his wounds, staining the stone beneath him.

His eyes, wide with fear, dart between the two combatants, and he clutches at his side where a jagged piece of debris has pierced his flesh. He is newly awakened, caught in the crossfire of a battle far beyond his understanding. Gasping for breath, he trembles, knowing he is too weak to intervene. His eyes linger on the pedestal, where the holy relic still pulses with light. It's so close—yet entirely out of reach. The relic, untouched by the chaos that surrounds it, glows as a beacon, almost mocking in its serenity as the cathedral crumbles around it.

[You have been affected by high-level energy]

[High-energy bodies detected. Please move to a safer area]

The system prompts acted as a reminder that whatever he thought he could do was an illusion

.He feels so dumb to have underestimated the two beings, as each clash of theirs would send a wave of unimaginable dark and light power that would shatter the air around it and create small whirlpools of death that emanated whirls of skills that they had used.

Each of them more lethal than the other he was even dragged by the hand by an abyss creature only for the knight to use a skill that burns the ever living shit out of everything, his battered body and tattered equipment made him feel sorrowful and vengeful if he had known he could've gone to the forest but noooo [Descent of Primus ] just had to have a field day with him. now look what has happened everything is being razed to the ground with this two sickos who haven't even talked to each other just duked it out like sworn enemies.

He didn't know what that finger was but for it to make the strong beast known as The warden to act so crazy means that it was just as valuable. It being so mesmerizing yet through all of this rumble and destruction everything seemed to swerve away from it like nothing should touch it and nothing ever will, he looked at the two behemoths fighting each other. He smiled wryly trying to think of how he could take the small relic out of their hands, and as he did his bloodline pumped in excitement as he felt it roil within his body in encouragement. He starts cooking up a plan as the two continue with their fight unaware of the young human plotting.

The knight of light, his eyes glancing momentarily toward the huddled figure, feels the weight of his duty press upon him. He knows that if he fails, not only will the cathedral fall, but the relic's power will be claimed by the darkness. With renewed determination, he tightens his grip on his longsword and lunges, his blade shining as it arcs toward the Warden's side. The Warden parries, its clawed hand snapping out to grip the knight's shoulder and shove him back. Their strikes grow slower, each one a test of strength and will as they batter each other across the ruined floor.

The Warden, sensing the knight's weariness, unleashes a flurry of spear thrusts. The cursed weapon crashes against the knight's shield, each blow pushing him back. A final strike sends him staggering into a column, the stone pillar collapsing in a cloud of dust. Seizing its chance, the Warden charges, its spear aimed to pierce the knight's heart

[Shadow Spear Strike]

Effect: The Abyssal Warden thrusts its spear forward, extending it with the energy of the Abyss. The spear transforms into a shadowy, elongated lance that pierces through enemies, dealing dark damage and leaving behind a shadowy afterimage. This afterimage explodes after a short delay, dealing additional area damage to nearby enemies.

. But the knight, driven by the light's call, deflects the spear at the last moment. He

counterattacks,

[Solar Flare Slash]

Effect: The knight channels Solara's radiant energy into his sword, swinging it in a wide arc. The strike releases a wave of searing light that blinds enemies and deals heavy holy damage. Enemies caught in the wave are blinded for 3 seconds, reducing their accuracy.

his sword carving a deep wound across the Warden's torso, light bursting from the gash. The Warden howls in pain, its dark energy leaking out like smoke, yet it does not fall.

As the two clash again, they each move with a desperate, haggard intensity. Their strikes are heavy, and their breath comes in labored gasps, the once-rapid pace of their battle slowing to a brutal, exhausted struggle. The knight swings his sword with all his remaining strength, but the Warden's spear intercepts the strike, the impact sending both fighters reeling. The knight staggers, almost collapsing, and the Warden, its carapace cracked and pulsing with dark energy, takes a step forward, determination and fury etched into its monstrous form. It thrusts its spear again, and this time, the tip finds the knight's side, punching through the silvery armor. The knight cries out, blood spilling onto the floor as he stumbles back, his weapon momentarily lowered.

But as the Warden pulls back its spear for the final strike, the knight gathers his strength in a last act of defiance. With a cry, he swings his longsword upward in a desperate, arcing slash that catches the Warden across its chest. The blow is powerful, shattering part of the Warden's armor-like carapace. Dark mist pours from the wound as the creature staggers back, clutching its chest as it lets out a terrible, enraged howl. The knight falls to one knee, clutching his own wound, blood dripping through his fingers. Both are now critically injured, their bodies broken and their weapons heavy in their hands.

In the rubble, Cruz watches, his eyes wide with fear and awe as the two giants of light and dark face each other, barely standing. Blood drips from his lips as he coughs, his strength fading. He knows that if either one seizes the relic, the battle will be decided—and the fate of the cathedral, perhaps his and the dungeon, with it.

The two combatants, now panting and bleeding, stand across from each other, the cathedral silent except for their ragged breaths. The Warden grips its spear, its eye burning with a fierce, unyielding hunger. The knight, battered and bloodied, rises shakily to his feet, his longsword a gleaming, defiant shard of light. They are both at their limits, each step taken with effort, each movement a struggle. The pedestal, glowing with holy light, remains the only untouched point in the cathedral, its serene presence a stark contrast to the ruin around it.

With nothing left but their will and their cause, they charge one final time, weapons raised. The Warden thrusts his spear down

[Black Hole Spear]

Effect: The Warden hurls its spear into the ground, causing a mini black hole to form at the impact point. The black hole pulls in all nearby enemies, dealing crushing gravitational damage and reducing their ability to move or dodge. After a few seconds, the black hole collapses, dealing a final burst of damage to all caught within.

, and the knight swings his sword down

[Judgment of Solara]

Effect: The knight calls down a pillar of sunlight onto a targeted area, burning all enemies within the radius and dealing heavy holy damage over time. Enemies inside the pillar of light suffer reduced healing and are weakened by divine judgment. Allies within the pillar gain a healing aura and increased attack power.

, their blows connecting with a thunderous impact. The knight's sword light pierces and burns through the Warden's carapace, sending a burst of light through its form, while the Warden's spear's blackhole ability starts crushing the knight while it finally rushes out deep into the knight's shoulder, darkness spilling from the wound. Both fall back, stumbling and collapse to the floor, their weapons slipping from their hands.

The cathedral is silent once more as both warriors lie on the ground, their breaths shallow and their eyes fixed on the relic, now glowing brighter than ever. The battle hangs in the balance, and the outcome is left to chance, the light of the relic casting long shadows over the fallen figures and the huddled Cruz, who can only watch in fear, hope, and deviousness
