Six hours had passed since Joanna was taken. Time was ticking, and very soon, they wouldn't know her location once the seventy-two hours elapsed.
The person sending the messages claimed to be Logan, but Alex found each word detached from the brother he grew up with, so this time, he responded.
'You claim to be ready to give me the terms of getting my wife back, but how do I know that you are indeed Logan? It could be anybody just using his image.'
It took a while before he got a response. 'How do you want me to prove it?'
'A video call won't be bad,' Alex replied.
There wasn't a response, but a video shone on his phone. It was Logan walking on the beach. "Alex, how are you?"
Alex's teeth gritted together, but he could still not believe it, sensing something off. "How do I know it isn't an AI?" He asked. Logan smiled and asked him,
