Joanna's eyes sparkled with shock. "Asia? For what? And don't you have work?"
She couldn't help but fear that something worse was going to happen to her, all because of how Nancy and her father were killed.
"You want to get rid of me," she said, fear evident in her eyes, causing Alex's heart to sink.
"Your perception of me is very twisted. I have never killed an innocent person."
Joanna wanted desperately to believe him but still found herself doubting his words.
"What about Nancy's father? Enzo?" Pain filled her eyes as she asked, and Alex decided to tell her the truth.
"Enzo was wrongly killed by his best friend, who was also in love with your mother. But because they both worked for me, I take responsibility. However, Nancy is alive, but trust me, she doesn't want to be with you."
"You are lying to me." Pain was evident in Joanna's eyes, feeling that Alex was taking her for granted by lying to her.
