The sound of a slap resonated through the entire living room, stunning everyone. Joanna suddenly burst into laughter, earning a smirk from Alex.
He had to admit how cute she looked when she laughed like that.
"You deserved that one. I never saw a man as petty as you, and the only reason I never wanted to speak was because of Alex," Joanna said seriously. Aiden could not be upset with her for the sake of Alex.
Nevertheless, he was still finding it hard to recover from the slap as it wasn't the first time Violet had done it. He was able to prevent other ones, but this one seemed impossible, and he couldn't prevent it. Violet had moved faster than he ever imagined or expected.
"And you think she's innocent of everything I said?" Aiden asked Joanna. "Why can't she be like you?" He asked, not only Violet and Joanna, but Alex was getting upset and stopped him.
