Joanna was reluctant to answer the call, causing Alex to stretch his neck to catch a glimpse of the caller.
"Answer the call," he encouraged her, but Joanna shook her head in refusal.
"It's my dad, no need."
"Answer it," Alex persisted, already thinking of ways to deal with the bastard of a father once more.
If he had his way, he would make Cole disappear. "It's just my dad. He's not important to me," Joanna refused once more, but Alex casually stretched his hand, and his finger slipped across the screen of the phone.
"Then I should answer it for you."
Joanna did not care for her father, so she did not stop Alex from answering the phone, activating the speaker button.
An angry voice met their ears. "Joanna, are you crazy? I want you at home right now."
The voice was so commanding that Alex was offended, wondering if Cole forgot that Joanna was not Mia.
