Aiden inquired, "Are you planning to rescue her?" as he adjusted Alex's suit. "Your family doesn't tolerate lateness." He paused, noticing a peculiar smile on Alex's face.
"What makes you think I would allow them to deceive me?" Alex scoffed.
Aiden was intrigued. He would be upset to see Alex fall for such a trick, but they needed the gown for Joanna. What was Alex's plan?
"What do you mean?" Aiden asked, prepared to offer his full support for whatever Alex had in mind. Alex responded calmly.
"Redial the number."
Aiden held back his questions and complied due to time constraints. They needed action, not words.
The same deep voice from earlier answered the call, and Alex spoke immediately, asking, "Why do you think I care about the woman you kidnapped?"
"I know you don't care about her, but you do care about the wedding gown," the man replied from the other end of the line.
