Then Grey cried out, collapsing onto his knees.
"Aaagh!"
The agony was unlike anything he had ever felt before.
His entire frame trembled uncontrollably, every nerve screaming in protest.
The agony was paralyzing, pinning him to the ground as he groaned heavily, struggling to even breathe.
It felt as though countless scorching hot rods were stabbing into him all at once, burrowing into his very core. His teeth clenched tightly, as the relentless pain refused to subside.
Suddenly, the water behind him churned violently, and Grey's danger sense flared again.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw multiple tendrils shoot out of the ocean, snaking toward him like predators zeroing in on their prey.
Through the haze of pain, Grey knew he couldn't stay down.
"Move, damn it!" he growled to himself, biting his lip hard enough to draw blood.
