Grey barely had time to react as the tendril around his leg yanked him down with alarming force, dragging him toward the water's edge.
Instinct kicked in, and in one smooth motion, he unsheathed [Venom Edge] and with a sharp swing, he severed the slimy appendage, the cut spraying dark, viscous liquid onto the patch of land.
But before he could catch his breath, more tendrils erupted from the water, snaking toward him like predators closing in on prey.
They latched onto his arms, legs, and even his torso, tightening with frightening speed.
"Not happening!"
Grey growled, slashing at the tendrils with precise strikes.
Venom Edge tore through them like butter, leaving twitching, severed pieces in his wake.
Yet no matter how many he cut, more surged forward, relentless and unyielding.
The onslaught forced Grey back, his boots skidding on the edge of the small patch of land.
