Ken suddenly plopped down beside him, making Grey flinch.
Grey leaned back, slightly uncomfortable, unsure of where this conversation was going, and Ken broke the silence with a casual tone:
"So, what's your plan when we leave this place?"
Grey crossed his arms:
"I don't see a reason to tell you anything."
Ken nodded:
"Fair enough. I just thought maybe you'd want to join us. Everyone here is heading to the main shelter. Mason and Jack over there know exactly where it is—the place is run by their leader."
'Main shelter?'
Grey thought, his interest piqued.
He scanned the group Ken had brought along. Beside Ken were Mason and Jack, the ones who supposedly knew the location.
There was also a young woman, an elderly woman, and a boy who looked about high-school age. They all seemed nervous, sticking close together like they could barely hold their own.
This group was even less prepared than Nathan's had been.
