Apollo rolled his eyes and simply huffed.
The monkey's casual attitude was as frustrating as the chaos he'd caused, but there was no time to argue. They had a shelter to reach.
After a few minutes of running in the ruined streets, Nathan announced they had arrived before coming to a halt:
"We're here."
The temporary shelter he'd located was right in front of them: a shopping mall.
But blocking the entrance was a hulking mutated creature—a crab the size of a small car, with pincers sharp enough to slice through metal.
One pincer was currently jammed into the body of a zombie, the creature feasting on its latest catch.
Nathan's gaze narrowed and gritted his teeth:
'This was bad news.'
The shelter wouldn't activate with an enemy nearby, and the monstrous crab looked ready for a fight, hissing at the attackers with its claws drumming on the ground.
