Chapter 133 - Chapter 131

In the face of Kara's overwhelming power, Parallax—the creature that was supposed to embody the ultimate fear—had no choice but to surrender.

If that little blue Guardian had been able to endure fear all those years ago, he wouldn't have been overtaken by the Parallax entity in the first place.

Now, when Parallax realized that his strength was nowhere near Kara's and that she could nearly obliterate him with ease, slicing his massive form into countless fragments, he was forced to feel fear himself. It was an emotion he'd known well for countless years but never personally endured. But Kara had brought him a new and genuine terror, dragging him to the edge of the sun and suspending his body near it with bars that seemed designed for roasting.

Did she really intend to eat him?

Looking on in horror, Parallax trembled as he shouted, "Stop this! You'll collapse the universe if you go any further!"

But the sun's proximity wasn't going to destroy Parallax. As the living embodiment of fear itself, he was more like pure energy without a true physical form. Still, his words were more than bluffs; this prolonged exposure would mean his end, regardless of his supposed invulnerability.

Kara, unphased by his pleas, continued to observe his enormous head with a silent, intense curiosity. Parallax shivered; her gaze was one he faintly recognized—the same expression seen on someone who's found an exquisite dish after a long period of hunger.

A hint of malice glinted in Kara's eyes.

"Ready for a final blow?" Kara tapped Parallax's head with a smile that seemed sweetly ironic.

In her current form, Kara was a 300-meter-tall titan. Though she was slightly smaller than Parallax, she had dismembered him to the point where he was left with little more than a primary torso.

With another surge of strength, she struck Parallax's head hard, nearly knocking him out. But he awoke almost instantly, the sensation of burning pain tearing through his consciousness. Kara had already begun inching his body even closer to the sun.

The sun's massive gravitational force began to pull him in, and the proximity intensified the burn. Kara, now in her colossal form, was more exposed to the sun's rays than she would be in her normal state, her cells drinking in its energy eagerly, rapidly amplifying her power. She cast a glance at her orange ring, a symbol of avarice, and heard a small voice whisper, "Mine, mine, it's all mine—the sun, the stars, the whole universe…"

Kara chuckled. "One day, maybe I'll cook you too."

The voice immediately vanished.

By the time she looked back up, Parallax's scream had faded into silence.

"You ready?" Kara brought Parallax's main body closer and examined him with renewed interest.

Suddenly, Parallax's body began to disintegrate in her hands. Kara frowned. "What's happening? Did I cook him too much?"

But Parallax hadn't deceived her—not completely. His form was indeed made of pure energy, and now, as Kara's intense heat burned him alive, his form melted into raw, unrefined yellow energy—the very essence of fear. The endless swarms of energy he'd accumulated over years of terrorizing planets and beings, most recently devouring a team of elite Green Lanterns, now floated as unrestrained energy before Kara.

The yellow energy seemed drawn to her, radiating a strange admiration as if Kara were its new god.

But just then, a horrible voice boomed, "Return to me!" Emerging from the crumbling remains of Parallax's body, a hideous golden insect-like creature with serrated fangs and monstrous claws burst forth. This was the true form of Parallax.

The moment the creature appeared, the streams of yellow fear energy stopped flowing toward Kara and returned to its master. Parallax lunged at her, its scythe-like limbs swinging with deadly intent.

Hovering silently in the void, Kara watched as the creature closed the distance. She raised her hand, summoning her Green Lantern ring to create a massive fly swatter.

"Wham!"

The Parallax creature was flattened as if it were nothing more than a bug.

Before it could react, Kara grabbed it by the head and created a pair of sharp black scissors with her other hand, ruthlessly snipping off each of Parallax's limbs.

Golden light flashed with every snap as pieces of Parallax's body disintegrated. Though he was made of energy, Parallax let out blood-curdling screams under the assault of similar-spectrum power.

With each cut, the yellow energy surrounding them cheered, eagerly flocking toward Kara, celebrating her triumph. Even though she had absorbed just a fraction of Parallax's essence, her mental strength had increased sharply. Where before her physical strength rivaled Superman's, her mental resilience had always been somewhat lacking. Now, she glanced at a cluster of meteors light-years away, and they instantly crumbled to dust.

This new level of power was as if she had absorbed an entire Parallax mountain of energy, amplifying her abilities to an awe-inspiring level.
