Chapter 130 - Chapter 128

The Wall of Origin is an incredibly complex concept, and discussing it is even more challenging.

Currently, there's no real chance of Kara encountering it. However, the Asgardians claim that Kara's patron hails from beyond the Wall of Origin, or "outside" of it.

"The Wall of Origin?" Kara mused, though she didn't feel much doubt. If something could exist beyond the Wall of Origin, then the events she'd experienced today didn't seem that far-fetched after all.

The mysteries surrounding the Wall of Origin are such that even the Asgardians avoid discussing them. Knowing how delicate the matter is, Kara decided to set it aside. "Since the Wall of Origin hasn't come into play yet, let's leave that discussion for later," she concluded. She recognized that when it came to matters as esoteric as the Wall of Origin, or anything from outside it, humans had little they could contribute to her knowledge. These Asgardians probably knew little more about the Wall of Origin than she did.

"It's time to head back and handle that giant octopus," Kara reminded herself, refocusing on Earth and the Parallax Demon.

It's worth noting that the entity is no longer referred to as a "Parallax Monster." Traditionally, the Parallax Demon represents a parasitic force rather than a singular creature. Kara understood that the demon feeds off fear, manifesting as a parasite within the bodies of powerful beings. In the context of the Lantern Corps, it's called Parallax only when actively controlling a host.

In the Green Lantern Corps, various entities, known as Lantern Beasts, represent emotional forces within each Lantern's power ring. For example:

Yellow Lantern: Parallax represents fear. When it possesses a host, the entity is called the Parallax Demon.Red Lantern: The Butcher embodies rage, creating a Blood Demon when it possesses a host.Orange Lantern: Ophidian, the embodiment of greed, turns its host into an entity called Greed.Green Lantern: Ion symbolizes willpower, and when merged with a host, the entity is called Ion.Blue Lantern: Adara, the spirit of hope, becomes the celestial Tianshi when joined with a host.Violet Lantern: The Predator channels love, transforming into the Predator Beast when it possesses someone.

As for the White Lantern and Black Lantern, they, too, have their own entities. The White Lantern's creature is the Entity, a representation of life itself, while the Black Lantern's entity is Nekron, symbolizing death. To wield the White Lantern's power, a host must fully embody life's purpose, while to use the Black Lantern's power, death is often required, with some becoming incarnations of Nekron himself.

Kara was relieved to learn from the Asgardians that she didn't need the approval of any Lantern Beast to use her ring. Her interaction with the Guardians of Oa allowed her to use her Yellow Lantern Ring freely, without concern for the entity of fear, Parallax.

Feeling satisfied with the information she received from the Guardians, Kara no longer felt the need to show hostility toward the Asgardians. Initially, she had suspected their involvement in Krypton's destruction, but now it was clear that they had narrowly escaped annihilation by Krypton themselves.

Historically, the Asgardians and the people of Oa have had a long presence in the universe. They once held the most powerful corps, the Green Lantern Corps and the Seven Lantern Corps. Ultimately, however, Krypton's might had left them nearly decimated. And even without Krypton, their struggle against Apokolips would have been equally devastating.

After her discussion with the Asgardians, Kara prepared to meet up with Hal again.

"Don't you need someone to train you on how to use the ring?" Hal asked, concerned.

Kara waved off the suggestion casually. "No need." Initially, she only considered using the ring's powers to survive in outer space. But once she put on the Green Lantern Ring, it teleported her to Oa unexpectedly. Without that detour, she would've likely confronted the giant octopus by now.

The current Oa is ruled by the Green Lantern Corps, so no one there could guide her through using other Lantern Rings. Besides, Kara had read the training manuals, and the ring's functionality was straightforward.

In essence, the Green Lantern Ring transforms imagination into reality. The stronger the user's willpower, the more substantial and powerful the created constructs become. A shield made by a strong will cannot be easily broken. The Green Lantern power is idealistic—essentially, you're as strong as you believe yourself to be.

After this, Kara raised her left hand and, with a thought, used her Green Lantern Ring to open a portal back to Earth, specifically to Hal's home. Kara greeted Hal and stepped through the portal.

Hal followed, blinking in surprise as they suddenly appeared back at his house. Several hours had passed since they'd left.

Dani wasn't there, evidently busy with other matters. Kara stepped over to the phone and dialed Dani's number.

"Kara? You're finally back! Thank goodness! Where have you and Hal been?" Dani sounded relieved but clearly curious.

Kara smiled at the sound of Dani's energetic voice. "I ended up on an alien planet thanks to that ring. I'll explain everything later. Where are you? That big octopus didn't come back, did it?"

"No, I'm safe," Dani replied. "My boss and I are just reporting the situation to the higher-ups to plan a response if needed. But don't worry, I haven't mentioned anything about you."

Kara chuckled. Dani now worked for Amanda Waller, handling supernatural crises. Although Kara sometimes worried about Dani's safety, she knew Dani thrived in this line of work.

After ending the call, Kara decided to check in with Clark. "Clark, have you sensed anything unusual?"

"Yes," he replied. "There's something in outer space heading toward Earth. It's already entered the solar system."

"Don't worry, Clark. I'm handling it," Kara reassured him.

Clark hesitated, and Kara sensed his wish to be more involved. He was 20 now, old enough to start joining the battle. Still, she encouraged him to wait a bit longer.

"When you graduate college, Clark, neither my parents nor I will interfere with whatever you decide to do," she promised. "Just give it a little more time."

Clark sighed but agreed. "Alright. Just be careful."
