Chapter 115 - Chapter 114

Kara had overlooked one thing: she was no longer Oracle Man, but a female Superman—she was now Supergirl.

Dani was seeing Kara's face in this new form for the very first time, but that didn't stop her from immediately recognizing her voice. "Kara? Finally! Get me out of here, quick!"

Dani's situation looked dire; she was being held mid-air, pinned against a glass wall by an invisible force. Alongside her were two other people—a Black woman and a middle-aged white man.

Kara was only a minute away. However, suddenly, a transparent barrier blocked her path.

Kara turned her head and saw a figure with a grotesquely large head standing on the ground below, staring at her with a strange expression. "Who are you?" he asked.

Kara didn't waste any time on pleasantries. "Step aside." With a determined shout, an incredible force radiated from her, shattering the invisible barrier in front of her. The power she wielded was telekinetic, far stronger than anything the big-headed man could muster. He flew backward, hit hard by the invisible hammer of her psychokinesis.

With the barrier down, the power restraining Dani and the others dissipated, and the three began to fall. Kara rushed forward. She caught Dani in a princess-carry, while telekinetically stopping the other two from hitting the ground.

Dani wrapped her arms around Kara's neck, staring at her in amazement. "I thought you were just Oracle Man. What is going on here?"

Kara shrugged, realizing Dani had figured out her identity as Oracle Man long ago. But this was an emergency, and she couldn't risk Dani's safety. She'd arrived here as Supergirl, and now she had to do her best to cover up the truth of her Kryptonian origins.

"No time for that. Who's that big-headed guy?" Kara asked, still holding Dani in mid-air as she looked back at the figure who was struggling to stand.

"He's Hector Hammond," Dani replied, eyes wide as she tried to take in everything. "The son of that senator, Hammond Sr. He's been working with alien tech and got infected with some alien substance. Now, he's got telekinesis, like you."

Dani's words stunned Kara for a moment. She glanced back at Dani. "So... he's a telekinetic too?" she asked.

"Yeah. I mean, it seems to be the same power you're using now," Dani said, still processing everything. She paused and then looked at Kara. "Wait… you had superpowers all this time, didn't you?"

Kara finally admitted it. "Yes. It's psychokinesis, Dani. I've had it for years," she said, grinning. "You remember all those guys who used to pick fights with me in high school?"

Dani nodded, memories flooding back. Kara had always been beautiful, and some guys were a little too aggressive in pursuing her. Whenever they stepped out of line, Kara had mysteriously made them back off—though now, Dani realized it hadn't been so mysterious after all.

"How long are you two going to stand like that?" The voice of the Black woman interrupted them. She and the white man had joined them on the ground. Dani stepped down, introducing the woman to Kara.

"Kara, this is Amanda Waller, my boss," Dani said. "We're both in charge of handling situations like this."

Kara almost muttered an expletive, but held back. She hadn't expected Dani to work under Amanda Waller, of all people. Waller was infamous in certain circles, and Kara had never imagined Dani would be in such deep waters.

Waller sized Kara up. "Just call me Waller," she said tersely.

"Fair enough," Kara replied. "What are we doing about Hector?"

Hammond Sr. stepped forward, addressing his son from a distance. "Hector, come to your senses! I'm doing this for your own good."

Kara rolled her eyes. Self-righteous, entitled parent figures were almost a trope at this point.

"Shut up!" Hector barked back. "Let me show you just how much I don't need your help."

A wave of telekinetic energy surged toward them. Kara sensed it immediately and countered with her own, blocking Hector's attack. In fact, her power was so overwhelming that she quickly gained the upper hand, forcing him into a defensive stance.

"Why are you protecting him?" Hector snarled, barely able to hold his ground.

"Because I'm a superhero, and superheroes don't let people get hurt on their watch," she replied, tightening her telekinetic hold on him.

Hector's eyes bulged, glowing an eerie yellow. His psychokinesis suddenly spiked, and Kara could sense he was tapping into something more powerful, like a reservoir of energy feeding into his abilities.

Kara's brow furrowed as she analyzed the situation. "So that's what this is," she muttered. "A power source feeding him, like a giant generator."

In that moment, a figure in green burst through the hole Kara had made. He wore a glowing green suit and a green mask over his eyes—a Green Lantern.

"Whoa, what happened here?" he asked, hovering near them.

The Green Lantern's arrival momentarily distracted Kara, and Hector seized the opportunity, breaking free from her hold and darting away.

"Not so fast!" Kara called, flying after him.
