He took another step forward. He was almost at the front gate.
The sky was blazing with a red fury. The ground was rumbling underneath his feet. His opponents were powerful.
But not powerful enough.
"Prepare to deal with the consequences of your actions." he whispered. "You have sealed your own doom."
Then they were on him. The first wave of attacks came, and he raised his hand up, with fingers splayed, pushing energy out from his fingertips. He charged that energy with one purpose. Destruction. Lightning rippled out from his hand, incinerating all that it touched.
He remembered when he had been weak. He remembered struggling from one meal to the next. Starving for days at a time. Fighting for every scrap of bread.
The defenders didn't know what hit them. In an instant, their armor was torn away, leaving only their flesh to face this storm. In another, their bodies followed. They were nothing before the power of his rage. The lightning rippled through the entire village, burrowing through the ground like the tentacles of an ancient monster, removing all trace that there had ever been a civilization here from the earth. Soon, there was nothing but ash and dirt. No foundations were left. No fields remained.
He lowered his hand, satisfied. He strolled through the desolation, smiling at what he had done.
No one could touch him.
He walked through the countryside. The screams that echoed in the valleys were music to him. His power was uncontainable. He destroyed everything.
Then the sky rained down on him. Reality itself began to press in on him. But he pressed back. Even this was a mere party trick to him. He broke through the restraint, and the one who had been trying to hold him collapsed from exhaustion.
Even one who called himself a god could do nothing.
The One who was the Many tried next. It became itself, attempting to trap him in a prism of misunderstanding and paradox.
But even that was not enough. He broke through the measly containment.
Even self-proclaimed deities had given up on killing him.
His power was unrivaled.
