Chapter 37: The City's Pulse 2
"I am here," said Dr. David Hayes, his voice calm and collected. "I'm ready to help."
Dr. Hayes stepped forward, his eyes fixed on the tunnel. He was a brilliant scientist, a leading expert in the field of quantum physics. He had been working with Rudd and the others to understand the Whisperers' technology. He had been studying the city, the forest, the abyss, the symbols, the Whispering Woods, and the Whispering Walls.
The room was crumbling. The walls were closing in. The tunnel was pulsing brilliantly. The air filled with a deafening roar. The ground trembled violently.
"We have to stop them," Rudd said, his voice firm and resolute. "We have to get to John. We have to save him."
"We're not going to let them win," Sarah said, her eyes filled with a fierce determination. "We're going to fight back. We're going to stop them."
Alastor, who had been struggling to hold back the tunnel's energy, let out a loud cry and raised his hand. The tunnel pulsed more intensely. The ground trembled. The room was crumbling.
"What is he doing?" Max asked, his voice filled with a sense of uncertainty. "Is he trying to close the tunnel?"
"No," said Eurydice, her eyes fixed on Alastor. "He's trying to get to John. He's trying to save him."
"He's using his power to overcome the tunnel's energy," said Dr. Hayes. "But it's a dangerous game. He could get caught in the crossfire. He could be trapped."
"We have to help him," said Rudd, his voice firm and resolute. "We have to get to John. We have to save him."
"We're not going to let them win," Sarah said, her eyes filled with a fierce determination. "We're going to fight back. We're going to stop them."
Just then, another figure emerged from the shadows, a tall, imposing man with piercing blue eyes.
"John Uncle!" said Lawson, his voice filled with a sense of relief. "I'm glad you made it."
"John, we're here," said John Uncle, his voice deep and menacing. "We're going to help you."
Just then, a third figure emerged from the shadows, a young man with a kind face and a gentle smile.
"Dr. David Hayes," said Lawson, his voice filled with a sense of hope. "We need your help."
"I am here," said Dr. Hayes, his eyes fixed on the tunnel. "And I'm ready to help."
"He's trying to open the tunnel," said Eurydice, her eyes fixed on Alastor. "He's trying to get to John. He's trying to save him."
"He's using his power to overcome the tunnel's energy," said Dr. Hayes. "But it's a dangerous game. He could get caught in the crossfire. He could be trapped."

As Alastor raised his hand, the tunnel pulsated even more intensely. The ground trembled. The room was crumbling.
"What is happening?" Dr. Thorne asked, her voice filled with a sense of panic. "This is not good. This is not good at all!"
