Within a mystical and divine confined space, a formless being watched the events that unfolded in Reality.
At first it was excited at the discovery of a fragment of the Great Potential, its mission. However, as it continued to observe the fragment's actions, it realised something both terrifying and infuriating.
Its gaze followed a streak of glittering starlight shooting across space from one end of the Myriad Worlds to another. That streak of starlight carried a great amount of Divinity as it already touched upon the very threshold of Ascendants.
Which meant that it had the possibility of breaking through the limits of Domains to become a Transcendent just like the formless being itself.
But that was not all that caught its attention. It looked towards an empty space in Reality.
There was nothing to be seen there, but it could feel a large concentration of Divinity from there. It could tell that there were at least quite a few powerful Ascendants among those divine beings it could sense.
And although they were not worth anything to it alone, when in such a large group, even stronger Transcendents than itself would have to worry about how to escape with the least amount of losses.
As a Transcendent, the formless being could not allow itself to be reduced to such a state. It would have to think of ways to avoid direct conflict with them. But that was why it was even more infuriated.
It turned its gaze to a certain direction within the space in between.
It had finally found the origin of the power that trapped it in place just a little while ago. Its formless body pulsed in fury as it watched a pinkish crystalline tree waving its branches as it greeted the astral winds.
This tree was familiar to it because it was the single most unexpected variable that had appeared in its game that made this final bit of wait interesting again.
At that time, the being thought that the Imaginary Tree was just a newborn Anchor which was then immediately dragged into the war due to the being's power. But it now realised that the Imaginary Tree had been plotting against it all along.
The man that the Imaginary Tree chose as its True Avatar was not a mere fragment of the Great Potential. It was the Great Potential itself that had gained an ego and incarnated.
And both the Imaginary Tree and the great power guarding Reality from the being's trespass were instead the fragments.
The three divine lights were proof of it.
After all, that power was also already at the threshold of Ascendants. It was terrifying to think that such power could come from a being who has yet to ascend. Even if he could only borrow the power of the fragments temporarily, it was still something to be feared.
The being knew that it would be butchered by the Great Potential sooner or later, so it became desperate. It needed to escape from the clutches of the Imaginary Tree while its power was being wielded by its master.
Even now, it was unsure of whether or not the Great Potential knew of its presence. But it did not dare wait to find out.
As a Transcendent, it had always kept its formless body as precaution. After all, bodies are to Transcendents what names are to Ascendants. They held the very essence of their power and existence.
And at this moment, the being unleashed its True Body.
Outside of everyone's sight, the being erupted with a power that transcended the limits imposed by Domains. Its Divinity was unlike anything ever witnessed in Reality or even the Void.
And with that one initial burst of power, it shattered the restrictions placed on it by the Imaginary Tree and dove deeper into the space in between. As a Transcendent in the path of Mirage, it easily melded and hid itself within this Plane of Existence, The Veil.
At the exact moment that the Transcendent broke the restrictions and vanished, many gazes all turned to its direction. It was as though they all had a singular mind, they all reacted in the same way.
Their eyes flashed with a sharp glint and cold killing intent.
The Imaginary Tree trembled in fear as it felt the gazes. Although it was not the one being glared at, it still failed to restrain the enemy and so it knew it was also at fault.
Fortunately, the gazes only lingered for a second. Instead, a loud voice that echoed like a resounding choir echoed out within The Veil.
[Hide well, little Aionspawn. Once this pathetic game of yours has ended, it will be your turn to play with me. With all of me.]
As those words spread throughout The Veil, many of the beings within it were suddenly made aware that an upheaval was coming.
The Veil was generally untouched by either Reality or the Void so the denizens of The Veil usually do not bother themselves with events of the other two planes of existence.
But now, it seems they are left with no choice but to find out lest they be dragged into a conflict they were wholly and terribly unprepared for.
However, it was not only The Veil that was shaken by the True Body manifestation of the Transcendent.
Somewhere in the blackness surrounding the Void, the unknowable being peered into The Veil with a similar cold glint and piercing killing intent as the choir of voices earlier.
And although it was seething in fury, it could only rein in its anger. After all, it was not in any position to act given its current status. In fact, perhaps to the denizens of the Void, it might as well be an even greater enemy than the Transcendent.
In the end, it sighed in exasperation.
[I shall leave that outsider to you all. So do not make me wait too long. We need to end this… before I am forced to end everything.]
As it spoke, another star's light sputtered out. Its glowing mass devoured by the coldness of a grave most unspeakable.
It was the antithesis to everything that is, the bane of all that was, and the nightmare of all that shall be. And unlike the gods whose Divinity gave hope and faith, its Divinity could only usher in the Omens of Nihility.
However, unlike the wishes of those who only wanted a swift and smooth end to this pointless war, a new variable had emerged.
The surge of tremendous amounts of Divinities from many different sources had caused an awakening of an ancient secret of Reality.
If anyone had ever wondered what a quake in space was like, then at this moment, their questions were answered. Unfortunately, it was an answer they would wish they never dreamt of witnessing.
A Forgotten Realm, far more hidden than even a Realm like Tír na nÓg, suddenly appeared in Reality.
To describe it as ancient was an understatement. After all, this realm had existed long before most things in this plane of existence had.
All the powerful beings in Reality immediately felt its appearance and were shocked.
The Forgotten Realm's aura was much greater than even the oldest and strongest known Realms, and yet they could tell that this secret Realm was not even complete. It was a mere fragment of a far greater Realm.
What Laws could have created such a thing?
What manner of beings lived in it?
And most importantly, what kind of power does its Lord wield?
In an instant, the Myriad Worlds were thrown into chaos. Many sent their forces to investigate while others brazenly tried to enter the Forgotten Realm directly. None of them succeeded, however.
Although the Forgotten Realm had been brought out of hiding, it still had enough power to protect itself. Not to mention, its inhabitants were not meek at all.
They protected their Realm very aggressively, but most importantly, they all had enough Divinity to be counted amongst the many gods of Reality. This was truly a Realm full of divine beings. And it was a level above Tír na nÓg.
No one knew where it came from or for how long it had existed, but a few people's reactions differed from all the rest.
In a council of thrones who seemed to be outside the scope of Time and Space, a pair of dull golden eyes shone brightly as the man spoke in surprise.
"How is this possible?! I thought it was completely destroyed?! Why have we never felt its presence before?!"
And back on Earth, two more people reacted similarly. Their heads snapped toward the direction of the Forgotten Realm. A woman with a pair of crystal white eyes shone with golden, silver and scarlet light as she tried to calm her heart.
Then she turned to the crimson-eyed man on a distant building, also staring at the Forgotten Realm in disbelief. She spoke to him, her words crossing a great distance yet still unable to mask her emotions.
"Cal, is that what I think it is? Do you think we would find it there?!"
"Calm down, Erta. Although it is that place, we cannot get ahead of ourselves. This is just a shattered fragment, an uncharted territory. Even for us, it will be difficult to find it in this fragment…. It is no longer simply our old Primordial Spirit Boundary."
