Richard drove us to a villa.
"I knew that sooner or later, you would have a meeting. If you need to meet Swan, you can come here," Richard said to the people present as he hugged me.
"Mom, are you now married somewhere else?" Klain suddenly asked.
"Yes," I quietly replied.
"That's good then," I heard Massey say. I looked at her in surprise.
"I saw the video. I also remembered some things while growing up. I am not like Klain, who blindly trusts others," Massey said, leading Klain to glare at her.
"What!" Massey shouted.
"Alright everyone, let's sit down first, have a simple talk, and everything will be fine. Swan can't remember any of you, so whatever you are saying isn't helping," Richard said as he led me to a sofa.
Others followed and sat around us.
"You can all go ahead and talk," Richard said as he left to go upstairs.
"Is that man treating you well?" Ady wrote in a notebook that his wife, Molly, passed him.
"Yes, he is good," I replied.
Ady sighed in relief. "On your burial, Ady released the videos of Zire's acts and Henry's involvement in the murder, but they were quickly ruled as fake. He was then arrested by the chief of police. If it wasn't for Molly, he would have probably stayed," Sima explained. I looked towards Molly in appreciation.
"He is my man. How can I let anything happen to him? I dare anyone to try!" Molly delicately said. Although her words were soft, you could hear the determination in them.
Ady helplessly held her hand after seeing her furious expression. "Aunt Sima, is Dad really that bad of a person?" Klain asked.
Sima was suddenly silent. "What do you think? After seeing that video, you still have the guts to ask!" Massey screamed at Klain, who immediately shut his mouth.
Suddenly, noise was heard coming from the front of the house. I saw Richard come from the room and directly head outside.
"Let me in! My children and wife are inside. Who are you?" I suddenly heard a voice say.
"Dad!" Klain called as he attempted to stand up before calmly sitting down again after seeing Massey's glare.
I then saw a fairly handsome man enter; he smiled as he looked at me. However, my body immediately shuddered at his smile. I really didn't like how he smiled.
"Shiba! Thank God you are okay. You simply don't know how I missed you," Henry said as he attempted to walk in my direction.
Richard immediately stopped him as he put a hand on his chest. "You can talk over here; no need to go close to her, Henry," he sternly said. I got to know that this man was called Henry, my supposed husband and also abuser. No wonder I didn't like his smile!
"Who the hell are you?" Henry asked.
"Richard Stone, Swan's husband," Richard replied as he walked towards me and held my waist. I immediately became comfortable.
"Oh! You are the supposed husband. Listen, she isn't called Swan; she is Shiba Ada, my legally wedded wife. Your marriage is null and void. I get that you saved her and all; the story is touching, but you can't come between us. Look at her children," Henry said as he pointed towards Massey and Klain.
I saw Richard's jaw tighten and knew he was really angry; however, I didn't know what to say.
Ady immediately wanted to rush towards Henry after his words, but Sima stopped him.
"Hm? Brother-in-law? Why the scary face? You personally attended our wedding and bore witness to our reunion. Oh! I forgot! You can't hear," Henry chuckled as he slowly spoke. I could sense the negative energy from afar.
"Alright, enough with all this. Shiba, Klain, and Massey, let's go home and talk everything through just like a family," Henry said.
"I am not leaving," I sternly said. Henry slowly looked at me with a smile.
"She isn't leaving," Richard repeated.
As the conversation was going on, the door was once again pushed open.
"Henry Charpil, I am Chief Superintendent Michael Stems, now in charge of Muni Police. Please follow us to the station. We need your help in our investigations," the police said.
"Henry Charpil? I am Mrs. Swan's lawyer. Please receive these court summons and also sign these divorce papers," another man said.
I was startled; I had never hired a lawyer. I finally knew that it was Richard's doing, so I lightly smiled at him as I tightly held his hand.
"Hahahaha, what is this bullshit I am hearing? Where is the real Chief of Police?" Henry asked.
"You mean Chief Louis? Well, he is kind of stuck. You see, it was discovered that he took bribes, blackmailed civilians, didn't fulfill his supposed duties, etc., so he has to answer for all that," Chief Michael said.
"Dad!" Klain shouted as tears threatened to leave his eyes.
"Mom, please don't let Dad be taken by them. Do something. Okay, I know he hurt you, but he is Dad. Please forgive him," Klain cried. Immediately, Massey landed a slap on his face. Klain was shocked and surprised.
"You slapped me!" Klain shouted.
"Forgive me too, since you like forgiveness so much," Massey said.
I was slightly startled by Massey's actions. Sima chuckled at her actions, which made Klain angry.
"I have no reason to go to the police. I didn't do anything wrong, and about the divorce papers, I simply won't sign. Shiba is my legally wedded wife; no one can separate us," Henry said.
"Then we will have to escort you there," Chief Michael said as he ordered two policemen to head towards Henry's direction.
Henry abruptly rushed towards me. Richard was caught by surprise, and he was too late to react, leading Henry to hold my left hand.
"Come with me. You once asked me if I have ever loved. I thought about it after you passed. Yes, I loved. I found that I really loved you, Shiba," Henry said.
"Let go!" Richard angrily said as he held my right hand.
"This is a family matter. Why do you like snooping around? I hate snooping dogs the most!" Henry replied.
Suddenly, I felt dizzy; my head seemed to almost explode. The words 'snooping around' seemed to trigger a very hidden memory deep in my brain.
"Shiba!" I heard different voices shout before I fainted.
When I woke up, Richard was sitting beside my bed. I silently looked at him. I had finally remembered everything; I finally recovered the memories I didn't want to.
"Remembered?" Richard asked. I gently shook my head. Richard pensively looked at me.
I tenderly held his face. "Nothing changes; you are my love and husband; you will always be," I said. Richard seemed to relax as he let me hold his face.
The doctor concluded that there was nothing worrying about my condition, so we left.
"Where are Klain and the rest?" I asked.
"I told them to go back home; they will stop by later when you are refreshed and fine," Richard said.
"What about Henry?" I asked worriedly. Henry wasn't a simple person; he had almost the whole Muni in his hands.
"Don't worry, different cases have been opened against him; the divorce is also in process," Richard said.
We therefore went home, took a bath, video-called Archie and Tracy, and went to sleep. However, I had a nightmare of Henry beating me up and forcing me to jump off a bridge. I woke up at Richard's urging as he tightly hugged me.
"You are okay; it's me," Richard softly said as he hugged me.
We had to stay in Muni country for some time since the court case was in motion. I took Richard to Mother and Father. Swanti had long grown up; she was still a foodie, though.
My father had long resigned from his government job after my "death." Words were being directed at him for his whole family being shrewd for money.
My father apologized to me for all the pain I suffered at Henry's hands. My mother cried endlessly at my misery. I told them not to worry, as I had Richard by my side.
The 'scars' collection was massively sold, and the company made numerous profits. The Charpil's businesses, however, were doing the opposite; different material about their brutal treatment of workers and competitors emerged. This led to a massive boycott movement and cases being opened against the enterprise.
People online were also following the court rulings. The court ruled that Henry was to pay 50 million in damages for the visible injuries inflicted on me, as there was apparently video evidence of his actions. I, however, never got to see it, but I somewhat guessed what it entailed. It added that the filing of the assault case was barred by time, so no further actions would be taken.
As for the murder cases, the court found that it wasn't clear who the man in the video was talking to, and they couldn't convict Henry based on assumptions. However, an arrest warrant had been issued for the man in the video.
A large mass of people in Muni and outside were very dissatisfied with the court's ruling, as the evidence was in front of them, but nothing was done.
I didn't understand the law, so I had no comments. I was, however, very happy that Henry's perfect mask was snatched off; from then forth, everyone would know him for who he was! I wouldn't touch Henry's money, though; I planned to open a women's victim home with it. Every helpless woman in Muni and the neighboring areas would go there to receive the help they needed.
Henry eventually signed the divorce papers. The media was present at the divorce settlement, and everything was recorded. Henry publicly asked for forgiveness and kneeled before the media, but I had long seen what this man was capable of. Who knows if his plea was genuine?
Charpil's power in Muni rapidly declined; their competitors used the time when they were battling cases and boycotts to completely hammer them down. Henry sold most of the cars, yachts, and different houses to revive some business, but nothing worked. I guess karma had come to bite.
I eventually left Muni for Dun. Although this was my hometown, I didn't have many good memories in it. Massey came with me, but Klain stayed in Muni. He apologized to me but said that we were both his parents; he would always come to visit me, but he couldn't leave his father in the dire situation he was in. I just allowed him to do as he pleased; I was, however, worried sick about his well-being.
I knew that this was all due to Richard's help. It wasn't easy to handle the Charpil family. Uprooting them from Muni, a country they had covered with their hands and feet, must not have been a simple task.
