Chapter 10 - The Little Girl In Red

Dawn looked at his phone on the floor. The pressure given off by the child was quite strong, he was quite drained by the spirit earlier and had no more energy to carry out any purification at the moment. Dawn lowered his body and stretched out for his phone. But, he stopped, the hand, very cold, touched the surface of his hand.

Dawn wouldn't lift his head, acting normal, and would ignore her. But, the figure gets closer, with her head so close to him. The water still dripped from her wet hair to the floor, drop by drop, black and muddy water, right in front of Dawn, there was no way he couldn't see it.

Dawn raises his head, so slow. Holding his breath and found the pair of scary eyes already fixed on him. Right before his eyes, the little girl's face, looking at him with a pair of completely white eyes. Dawn swallowed his saliva. It's a restless spirit, how come there are other restless spirits there? And this one was not just ordinary, she looked so evil with the dark matter floating around her little body. So thick. Just when he still figured out what she was, the rush of pitch-black smoke kept entering her small vessel. Her touch on Dawn's hand tightened, squeezing it. Every little touch stung so cold and hurt in every skin and muscle in Dawn's knuckle.

"Ah" Dawn whimpered. It wasn't just a child, the little spirit had been occupied by many restless spirits attached to it, making its energy even darker and heavier.

Dawn looked into the girl's eyes for a long moment. The pale lips of the little girl were pulled, grinning frighteningly with all her blackened teeth emitting black smoke.

"What do you want?" Dawn asked, holding back the pain in his grip by the girl's small hand. It looks small but all the veins turn black, indicating that the vessel has been penetrated by an evil spirit.

Dawn was not afraid of her, it was not the first time he had seen a spirit with a scary face, he had met the worst before this, but this one had very evil powers. Dawn couldn't lift his hand to push the girl from him, the pressure was too much for him now. Damn it, he curses.

The little girl grinned. She tossed the wet doll and used her hand to grab Dawn's neck.

"What do you want?" Dawn ran out of breath. He could choke to death anytime soon.

Even with all the strength he had, he couldn't move the little girl's grip off him. She was so strong. This is bad, this was a very bad idea.

"You have a shining body, give us your body" The little ghost's voice was not only hers, as if more than one man and woman's voice were on her. The evil spirits already took her vessel in control.

More and more black smoke gathered in the air and all entered the little girl's body. The strong wind pushed all the air circle above the girl, lifting Dawn's body into the air.

The little ghost floated with lots of black smoke enveloping her. This is serious, Dawn thought, he was starting to lose consciousness. He tried to touch the girl's body, but he was almost out of energy, there was no way he could purify another soul again. However, he had no choice. Dawn's eyes glowed red, and with all the remaining strength, he had to do it, or else, he could die stupidly there.

"Dream on"

The red light from Dawn's eyes spread to his hands, but the power of the black spirit keeps coming from anywhere around them, it keeps roaring into the little girl's body, unstoppable. Dawn's little flame seemed like nothing and only released a few attached spirits. It's getting so heavy and too strong for him now, what should he do next, would he die there?

Dawn's body fell limp, his both hands released and hanging with his body lifted into the air. The girl's hand was still strangling his neck very tightly. The ghost laughed with all her little teeth looked so frightening and ugly.

"Hahahaha! This is so great! I can feel your power all over me!" it shouts loud and evil.

Until something cut through the black vessel and dropped Dawn onto the wooden floor.

Bruk!

Hard enough. But, something held Dawn's body before he finally dropped to the floor and unconscious.

"Dawn!" a faint voice could be heard from a distance. The heavy steps run closer in hurry.

Emily widened her eyes and ran over to Dawn who was lying on the floor.

"Dawn, what happened?" Emily's voice buzzed outside Dawn's ears, as did another strange face that briefly appeared before his eyes. He tried to stay conscious, until finally he couldn't see or hear anything anymore, everything went dark.

"Dawn! Pops!" Emily exclaimed worriedly.

 …..

"Dawn!" the loud noise woke Dawn. His eyes opened wide with a sharp jolt from his subconscious. He looked around, he was already in the living room of their house. Emily and Pops looked at him worriedly.

"Dawn, are you alright? How do you feel?" Emily was very anxious, holding both of Dawn's hands trying to keep him conscious. Dawn took a breath, his neck hurt so much. The air seemed to be coming back to him, he coughed hard and tried to get up to sit up.

"Cough cough"

Emily helped Dawn sit up. Stroking his back. Pops immediately approached the table and took a glass of water. Emily, was so panicked, and almost took Dawn to the hospital if the young man didn't wake up.

"Here, drink it" said Pops pushing the water in front of Dawn, Emily helped him drink slowly.

Dawn was panting, his chest tight and breath heavily. Pops comes back with an inhaler for him.

"What happened?" asked Dawn.

She helped Dawn lie back down. Dawn looked at his aunt, and widened her eyes, someone was standing behind Emily, looking at him. Dawn held back, that 'man', the same figure he saw in the cold storage room, him, that ghost. The man seemed to be saying something with his lips moving, pointing at himself and Dawn.

"I, saved you" the words from his lips. Don't know why he did it, no one could hear him except for Dawn.

Emily patted Dawn's chest.

"We should be the ones asking, what happened? Why did you pass out there? What did you do until your asthma flared up like that? Hasn't it been a long time since it's recurred? How…?" asked Emily too excitedly. Pops pulled Emily's hand, she's been too anxious and can't stop her question.

"Em"

Emily was so anxious that her face was red, she lowered her chest which had been tense for a long time, trying to take a deep breath.

"Heh, Dad, Dawn hasn't been sick for a long time, why is he suddenly having a relapse like this?"

Dawn looked at Emily who so worried and almost crying. He held his aunt's hand.

"Em, I'm fine, I'm probably just too tired, don't worry," said Dawn grabs Emily's hand.

Emily looked at the young man, she took his hand, patted it, and touch Dawn's cheek.

"We're going to the doctor after this, don't be stubborn, listen to me, you haven't gone to the doctor for a check-up for a long time. At least do this for me, would you?."

Dawn nodded. How could he refuse her, Emily's face looked like she was going to faint from to much worry.

"Yeah Em, I'll go."

Dawn looked at his hand, the little girl's grip was so strong that it left bruises on him. He also felt his neck a little sore.

Emily noticed bruises on the back of Dawn's hands and also checked the bruises on his neck. She got up from her seat and approached the cupboard to look for medicine.

"How can it be red like this, is something bothering you?" Pops asked examining the bruises on Dawn's neck.

Dawn whimpered as Pops touched it.

"Ah gramps"

Emily approached after taking the ointment.

"Lets apply the ointment for now. After you get better, we go to the doctor to check it out, okay?"

Dawn nodded. Dawn couldn't help but look at the figure of the man who was now strolling in the room, how could a spirit enter his house? Moreover, he was traveling quite far from his body. And that little child's spirit, where did she come from?
