Chapter 1 - EVERYDAY LIFE

It was early in the morning, and Subaru and Co. had left for a place known as Pleiades Tower. Rem was not sure where that place was, but she was told it was a very important and dangerous place. She felt sad that Subaru actually left, leaving her behind; even if their relationship has finally gotten some what better, he left.

But it was still a good thing she still has no idea how to face that black-haired boy who saved her in Empire; 'even though I did not ask him to,' still she was grateful.

Walking around the mansion was her current routine to get herself familiar with this new place.

After losing her memories, she had spent most of her time with people of the empire, so she was still not aware of her standing here. She was currently going to the kitchen to see if there was something she could help with. As Rem entered the room to see two girls, yellow-haired and pink-haired, respectively.

"Nee-sama, is there anything I can help with?"

"Hmm, ah, Rem, we are almost done. Well, Ram cannot be happier that her little sister wishes to help her." Ram nodded a few times with a smile, seemingly proud about something she did not understand.

"Rem, its alright, most of the work has been completed," continued the yellow-haired girl before Rem could reply.

"It seems I was late then; is there anything else I can help with?" Rem not losing her spirit asked again.

"There is nothing much to do; we maids generally do most of the work early in the morning," answered Federika with her own smile, showing her the prepared food.

"Well, work is not the most important thing; it's the will to work that matters," Ram said. "But isn't it just you being lazy?" commented Federika, making Ram flush.

"It doesn't matter, Ram is almost perfect now with her little sister; she will be even more perfect," rebuked Ram, making Rem smile.

"YES, of course, nee-sama, if there is nothing to do, I was thinking about going down the village for a little tour. Is it alright?"

"It's alright, if you are going, remember to bring vegetables and fruits for salad," asked Ram.

"Wasn't it your job?" Federika asked,

"Well, now that Ram dear sister is here, she will obviously help her nee-sama."

"Yes, yes, of course, nee-sama," Rem added in her own playful tone, teasing her elder sister.

Rem actually has quite a lot of things to worry about. She was still not sure about her feelings and how to treat the boy with an awful and repulsive stench. She was told it was called the witch miasma, which the witch cult and evil witches have.

She was not sure why such a disgusting smell was on that boy, but her sister had told her he was not part of any cult and he was neither evil. 'He is just weird, I am sure.'

It was her thought about the boy who always acted in a troublesome manner, always getting dragged into problems a weak person cannot handle but still triumphing over them.

"What kind of problem have I gotten myself into?" she cannot help but say out loud.

As she reached the village, she saw many people doing their jobs, the elderly sitting outside their houses watching children play and teasing around. It was still early in the morning; she had not expected to see many people around.

Suddenly, she saw some kids imitating Subaru, pointing their hands toward the sky as if trying to grab it and shouting "victory."

She was a little stupefied looking at this, not knowing how to react. She was sure these little kids had gotten influenced by that boy.

"Kids, what are you all doing?" Rem asked with a gentle smile, trying not to scare kids after seeing a stranger.

"We are playing sister by copying big brother Subaru," a young boy with brown hair around petra age answered with a cheerful smile.

"Would you like to play with us, big sis?" asked the kids around them in their own cheerful tone, making Rem smile.

'The best way to know someone is to first understand how others see them. Rem said to herself,

"Hmm, I still have sometimes. What should we play?" Crouching down a bit, she asked the kids, "Let's play hide&seek." "No, we played it yesterday." "How about tag?" After chattering around a little, the kids finally decided on tag.

Rem was not sure if she would be able to run around too much with her leg but thought the kids should get tired first.

"Huff huff." Oh, how wrong she was. Playing with kids was harder than she thought. By the end of the game, she was the one lying on the ground.

"You all sure are full of energy." Breathing heavily, she stood up. After resting a bit and taking a deep breath, she calmed herself.

"Well, kids, I will take my leave then," Rem said with a little red face while waving at the kids.

"Bye big sis," "BBYE" " bring big brother next time." The children, still full of energy, shouted their own good.

After buying groceries, she was on her way back to the mansion.

"Spica, even though cheerful is still better, she doesn't run around this much; yes, I am sure it's all that guy's fault for all of this."

Not knowing how wrong and right she was, she still said these thoughts with a little smile.

Only if she knew her dear Spica was more troublesome than anyone, she would not have said those words. There are not many people present in the mansion; only two to three are there. Emillia-san and Otto-san, together with Roswall, have gone to the capital to submit the report about the empire.

Rem still misses all her friends she made there and how many she lost; she still remembers being thrown in the middle of nowhere and then being dragged in a war, then that zombie thing she still does not understand. "Haa," she sighed.

Even if she worries, things will not change; the only thing she can do is move toward the future and try to live a life with less regret.

It was late at night, and a blue-haired girl can be seen sitting on a chair near a desk writing something.

DEAR

KATTY,

How are you? I hope you are doing well. Last time you sent the letter first, so its my turn to send it. My life here is in simple turn ordinary, not exciting like you may have thought, but still better than wandering around. I still do not know how to act near that boy like you asked last time, but I am thinking about how to treat him better.

Scribble scribble, the sound of a pen moving can be heard in the silent night. The girl writing the letter will sometime stop to check the content and be in deep thought, adorably tilting her head.

She has noticed that her friend was writing the letter in a very cheerful manner, unlike her usual self. She had a small doubt, but she did not mention it. After all, a happy life was better than being depressed; the blue girl will be more sad if her friend is unhappy.

EVERYDAY LIFE CAN BE ORDINARY, BUT SOME PEOPLE WISH FOR ORDINARY.

 THE END
