Chapter 14 - chapter :14

Faced with Stein's invitation to take a bath together, several other roommates responded.

"I won't go. There are too many things to organize."

Not to mention the mountain of books and the suitcase Adam brought with him. Adam had previously sent six suitcases to Hogwarts by owl post.

With so many items, even basic organization would take some effort.

"There shouldn't be a rush to organize, right? Just take out what you'll need for class first, and we can help you with the rest on weekends when you're free."

"Yes, yes, if you don't take a bath, even the bed will get dirty, and you'll have to wash the sheets and quilts later."

"Don't worry about that."

Adam smiled and reached into his cloak, but actually summoned his wand directly from his palm and pointed it at himself:

"Clean it up!"

The roommates watched as a gust of wind swept over Adam, leaving him spotless. Their eyes then shifted to the mountain of books next to him.

Well, it seemed those books weren't bought in vain.

"Although this spell isn't as relaxing as a hot bath, it does save time. Anyone else want to try?"

Adam looked at the four with anticipation.

"No, no, no, I still prefer a hot bath."

After Stein finished, Robert and Eugene also nodded. It was Uther who stroked his chin, pondering for a moment before deciding he'd take a hot bath too.

"Alright then, let's go test the water temperature in the bathroom!"

The roommates shut the dormitory door behind them. Adam glanced at the top of his luggage, where a letter tied with a bow sat.

Opening the envelope, and skipping over the flowery language, Dumbledore had invited him to the headmaster's office on the eighth floor for afternoon tea tomorrow, and included the password: coconut ice cream.

Recalling the taste of that sweet treat, Adam couldn't help but lick his lips.

It must be said, the desserts in the magical world were quite good.

Putting the letter aside, Adam didn't begin unpacking right away. Instead, he took Mark and Sibi out from his pocket, both of whom had eaten quite a bit at dinner.

"It's time for you two to clean up. Do you want to use a regular cleaning spell or the bubble card?"

The bubble card's magic created pink bubbles with cleaning properties, able to wash both people and objects thoroughly.

After Sibi once told him not to limit his imagination, Adam had thought the card might one day unlock powers akin to a certain naval staff chief's fruit ability. But for now, Adam wasn't skilled enough to modify Clow Card magic, so the bubble card wasn't much different from a regular cleaning spell—aside from the bubbly method, of course.

Using the bubble card for something a simple spell could fix seemed wasteful. Adam could only use one Clow Card a day, and since it was already evening, he figured using today's charge wasn't a big deal.

"Let's just use the cleaning spell," Mark suggested, raising his hand.

"Yeah, let's save the bubble card for the Gan card later!" Sibi nodded in agreement.

"You two really can't forget about that one," Adam chuckled, playfully rubbing Mark's head.

"Alright, then shower up after your meal."

Pulling a large compressed cotton bag from his suitcase, Adam tore off a small piece, fluffing it up from a thumb-sized corner into a pillow-sized ball. He then summoned his sealing wand and the Gan card:

"Release the seal!"

The Gan card spirit, a palm-sized fairy-like creature, emerged and fluttered around Adam.

"Turn this cotton ball into something sweet."

The fairy sprinkled sparkling powder over the cotton ball, and it immediately filled the room with the sweet scent of sugar.

This was the Gan card's ability—it could make anything taste sweet or transform objects into food without changing their shape.

It might seem to break the rule of Transfiguration not producing food, but in reality, this magic fell under alchemy, not Transfiguration. A similar spell existed in wizardry—the spring of clear water, which produced drinkable water that could quench thirst.

Likewise, the Gan card's transformation wasn't strictly creating a magical item but something that possessed magical properties while remaining an ordinary object. So, although the transformed cotton looked, smelled, and tasted like sugar, it wouldn't cause things like tooth decay.

More impressively, since Gan didn't create a new magical item but instead altered an existing one to fit Adam's understanding of sweetness, the desserts it could conjure weren't limited by whether Adam knew the recipe, only by whether he recognized the taste.

Adam could now enjoy soda, something he hadn't tasted in years—a version that wouldn't spoil or cause harm.

Using water from a spring spell, Adam had the Gan card turn it into a glass of cola. After taking a sip, he looked at Mark and Sibi, who were busy getting ready for their bath:

"Enjoy your meal. I'll get started on my unpacking."

"Hmmmm~"

Mark waved as he dug in, while Sibi, lost in the bliss of sugary treats, paid little attention.

"Shrink—"

"Wingardium Leviosa—"

Once they finished washing up, Adam's roommates returned to the dorm, only to be shocked by the drastic changes inside.

Eugene, who opened the door first, froze in the doorway. Uther nudged him a few times before squeezing past, only to make the same surprised face.

"Why are you two standing there? You're letting the cold in!"

Stein, too short to push through, hopped up and down behind them.

"What's going on in there? Woah!"

Robert gasped as he stepped inside.

The dormitory itself hadn't changed, but opposite the four-poster beds, where there had once been empty space, now stood three rows of shelves.

Adam, sitting on a small sofa with two playful kittens on his lap, looked up at them apologetically:

"Sorry, I got a little carried away. I was too tired to organize properly, so I just temporarily pulled everything out. If it bothers you, I'll clear out the public space by the weekend."

"Bother me? Not at all!"

Stein finally squeezed inside, exclaiming as he hurried over to one of the sofas. He pressed his hand against it, marveling at the soft, velvety feel:

"Can I sit?"

"Of course, I made five!"

With the twin card, Adam could easily create copies of anything in large numbers.

Once Stein sat down, his freshly bathed body sank into the sofa's plush cushions, prompting a contented sigh:

"I love this. It's softer than a velvet pillow. Can I play wizard chess here?"

"Sure."

Adam gestured to the round table, which had been moved among the five sofas.

"I just don't know how to play wizard chess. You'll have to find someone else to play with."

"I can teach you!"
