Chapter 1 - Chapter : 1

In the early morning, a handsome young man stared at the envelope in front of him.

His name is Adam Stein. and today is the day before his eleventh birthday in this life.

Originally, his plan was to get up early and go for a morning run, just like every other day. But this morning, the fat Scottish round-faced chicken disrupted his peaceful day—perhaps it could be said that it shattered his tranquil life.

Adam's original life plan was to study hard, make progress every day, inherit his mother's seven restaurants and his father's three French restaurants, enjoy his healthy body, and live an ordinary life.

But now, looking at the school emblem on the envelope, which consisted of a lion, a snake, a badger, and an eagle surrounding the capital letter "H," Adam felt as if a noseless bald man had suddenly entered his future life, grinning and saying, "Hehehe."

He recalled that he and the famous Savior were born in the same year, with their birthdays only six days apart. In other words, if this letter wasn't a prank, he was set to enter Hogwarts in the same year as Harry Potter. It's unfortunate that there's no fantasy novel called "Harry Potter" in this world and this era.

If nothing unexpected happens, he will spend seven thrilling years at the safest magic school in the world.

In the first year, Voldemort will attempt to steal the Sorcerer's Stone. In the second year, a Basilisk will invade. In the third year, Dementors will come to the school. In the fourth year, the Triwizard Tournament will be restarted. In the fifth year, Umbridge will punish the students. In the sixth year, the principal will be attacked. After his death, the seventh year will directly turn into a battlefield.

Wow—what an adventure! (laughs).

"Hey, Mom, how's business today?"

"Well, I miss you too."

"The main reason I'm calling is to discuss my decision about junior high school—either in the United States, or France, but definitely not in the UK."

"I'm not being unreasonable; I'm mentally stable."

"I haven't told Dad yet… well, I'll wait for you to come back."

After hanging up the phone, Adam opened the envelope, read the wording inside—which was nearly identical to what he remembered—and sighed.

If only he had been born seven years earlier or later, Hogwarts would have been his dream school. He would have jumped up and down with excitement upon receiving this letter—except for this time period.

At best, he might have the opportunity to teach at Hogwarts for a year after graduation and get a look around.

His parents returned home faster than expected. After arriving, Mother of Stein hurriedly threw her bag on the sofa and entered family meeting mode. Mr. Robert quickly joined her after parking the car.

"My dear, if you're feeling tired from studying, we can definitely take a year off and go on a break."

"Although we always praise you for your good grades, we don't love you only for that. You are our pride, no matter what. You shouldn't feel burdened."

"The store isn't busy right now. How about a trip to Disney World?"

Perhaps they had discussed this in the car, but both seemed to think Adam was feeling overwhelmed by school pressure.

"Mom and Dad, it's not about study pressure."

Adam took out the Hogwarts letter and showed it to them:

"It's because of this."

He didn't hide the fact that he was a wizard. Though he didn't plan to attend Hogwarts, he still intended to learn magic. After all, Hogwarts wasn't the only magic school in the world.

With a mother and a French grandmother, he had options, all of which were likely safer than the dire situations at Hogwarts.

"Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry?"

The two of them exchanged confused glances as they picked up the letter to read.

Is this some kind of prank?

"Wait! I think I've heard that name somewhere…"

Mr. Robert suddenly frowned, lost in thought.

Um?! Did the Ministry of Magic's oblivion miss something?

Just then, Mr. Robert slapped his forehead:

"Ah! I remember! Isn't this the fairy tale my parents told me when I was a child? Dragons, magic, etc. It seems like a birthday surprise prepared by your grandparents!"

Recalling his childhood, Mr. Robert looked nostalgic:

"When I turned eleven, they said there would be a surprise. In the end, they prepared a big three-tier cake for me. I wonder what they'll prepare for you?"

Adam opened his mouth, his expression complicated. He seemed to know something…

"Maybe I should call my grandparents and ask."

Although he had a rough idea of what happened, Adam still wanted to confirm.

"Well, that might spoil the surprise. They could be unhappy if I reveal it."

Mr. Robert hesitated, regretting he had revealed the truth so quickly. His relationship with his parents was somewhat delicate.

To be honest, he had been very close to them as a child, and they had fully supported his desire to start a business and open a restaurant. However, they had asked him to move out the day he turned eighteen and rarely visited since, only calling occasionally.

"It's better to call and ask. I'm really curious. Let me check."

Seeing Adam's insistence, the couple had no objections. Adam picked up the phone in the living room and dialed.

It didn't take long for someone to pick up.

"Jerry, what's the matter?"

His grandfather's voice came through the line.

"Grandpa, it's me."

"Oh, it's baby Adam! Do you have something to tell Grandpa?"

Hearing his grandfather's suddenly softer tone made Adam inexplicably nervous.

"Grandpa, do you know Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry?"

There was a sudden silence on the other end, followed by his grandfather's excited voice:

"Hogwarts! You got the letter, right, honey? Merlin's Blessings! I knew it! I've been waiting for this all month! Emma! Come here!"

A vague call echoed, then his grandfather's voice became clear again:

"Listen, kid, stay home; your grandparents will be there soon!"

After hanging up, Adam looked at his parents and pursed his lips.

"Grandpa said they'd be here soon."

"They'll arrive soon? But they're in Devon..."

Before Mr. Robert could finish, the doorbell rang.

The three of them exchanged glances, and Mr. Robert stood up to answer the door, opening it nervously.

"Mom and Dad?!"

"Oh son, we miss you so much!"

Grandpa stein and his wife embraced their son, then walked straight toward Adam.

"Honey, show us the letter quickly!"

Mr. Robert stood at the door, bewildered: "???"

He felt a brief moment of love, only to have it disappear in an instant.

Mother of Stein handed the letter to her in-laws, sensing Adam hadn't mentioned it on the phone.

If the letter was prepared by the grandparents, then they must have known about it. Their sudden appearance likely meant they had rushed over to surprise their son.

But what about the phone call that went through?

"Okay, great! Merlin bless you..."

The old couple turned the letter and envelope over several times. Suddenly, old Mr. Stein raised his head.

"By the way, have you told your father-in-law about this?"

Seeing Mrs. Robert confused expression, old Mr. Stein nodded.

"Okay, I'll contact him to share the news."

Adam: "???"

Surprises?!
