"No! No!" He screamed, holding his hand out to the figures in that vast dark.
Six figures all surrounded him like vultures to a corpse, their forms, all incorporeal and smoky, all glowing a crimson outline, They gnashed and laughed at him, all snickering with malicious and sadistic smiles as he floated in the void.
"Please no," he said, shuddering as the figures towered over him in height.
They suddenly surrounded him, their bodies converging into one powerful typhoon that covered his entire body, moving around him rapidly.
A brutal pain shot at his body, as a gust of wind sliced at his shoulder, causing it to bleed profusely. Other gust's followed and ravenously clawed at his body like viscous beast's hungry for blood, causing his body to lose chunks of his flesh as they clawed to every nook, and exposing the bone underneath.
"GRAHH!" He screamed a pained roar as his body was being overwhelmed by pain by the constant . It felt like an eternity, as the gust continued their assault, every blow that passed him another wound was painted on his body, and a pool of crimson shot out of it. The pain was felt through every surface and body part, his sight being engulfed with the black torrents constantly.
In an instant, the gust's quickened their movements, and he felt his hand being snared. Simultaneously his other limbs started to get ensnared too, his hands pulled apart by unknown bands and his legs joined together. He wildly looked at his body, and to his horror, it was completely bone, clear of anything and stripped bear of flesh.
He jolted awake, waking up in a daze from the fright his mind subjected him too. His eyes darted around, and he crazily patted down his body, and was relieved that his body was still with him. He realized he was shaking terribly, and his breathing was frantic. He calmed himself down, clutching at his forehead, pacing his breaths slowly. He looked around throughout his surroundings, seeing the tress, the green grass, and the small stream and it's currents, all visible now with the risen sun. It relived him that it was still there, in his sights.
A snarl suddenly sounded behind him, and turning quickly, still exhausted and dull, he was met with a startling sight. A huge beast was gnashing it's teeth at the sleeping girls that were beside him; a bear-like creature, thick with black fur, body parts equipped with a bone carapace, claws that protruded out like long blades and a short and barbed tail, was looking at the girls with a drooling mouth. The girls were miraculously still asleep, minding not the large beast's breath that huffed down on them. It raised it's paw at the pair, readying an attack as his claws elongated more.
"No!" Adaceus said, quickly waking up, filled with adrenaline as his body went into action. "STOP!"
He quickly summoned the soldier, and in its hands was bardiche, and it struck at the beast. The bear then went back, launched away by the soldiers weapon.
The bear then raised his hand, and slammed down on the soldier with a powerful strike. A loud metal clang was heard, the strike denting the black armor, but only managing to push down the soldier slightly as it was not deterred by it, still bearing on its flesh.
The bear roared, but was stopped by Adaceus, who suddenly joined in with flickering speed, stabbing the beast jaw down shut with his blade. The soldier then pushed more fiercely, toppling the behemoth on its back, where he stabbed deep into it's soft underbelly. It stabbed continually with a fiery rage, a flurry of thrust's splattering blood as it sliced the bears innards. The beast desperately fought back, using its paws to push it away with brute force that could bend steel, but was stopped as the shadow sliced both of his hands cleanly off.
Adaceus continued holding its jaw down, until the beast suddenly went still, the soldier delivering a final blow on its stomach with a might blow. Behind him he looked to see he girls weary eyes waking up, looking at him with the same, dull stare, disregarding the dead bear.
"Get ready, girls."
....
At the rising of the day, the warm sun rays shine striking them, they entered the forest, traveling its uncharted woods. Using the newly turned ursine with its wide and large body because it was comfortable to mount on, and even had space for the girls to sleep on its fur.
Prior to this they all stuffed their faces full of bear meat, the girls even more so that he could swear they would've finished the whole thing, so it was no wonder that when they begun riding they took it upon themselves to sleep, exhausted from the eating they had just done.
At the front of his vision he could see a clearing. Rustling to the trees he went decided to make that his destination. The ursine shoved its large body on a couple of trees, its size causing the trees before it to bend away, the roots coming out of the ground. And as he suspected it was a trail. It was a long patch of clear earth, patches of grass on its sides, making up a dirt road that spanned a long way. It was probably used as a roadway for the species that were on this world. He looked to left or right, the right sides end was unseen to him, complimenting how long it was.
The light appeared again, directing to the right side. Adaceus complied, but cautiously inspecting that way. The light thus far had gave him no reason for him not to trust it. Though he didn't know what it was or what its intentions are, he didn't know where-else to go, the light was the best way of navigation available, so he decided to trust its judgement though uncertainty still lay in his thoughts as he followed.
He traversed for hours now and the day had became afternoon, then afternoon became dusk, and at the present it was early in the evening, the moons settling in to take the suns place and its slight silver light penetrating through the leaves.
Ahead the light suddenly flickered brightly, rapidly quivering its body and trailblazing forward over and over as if in panic. "What's wrong?" He said to the light, then a loud commotion was heard, panic screams and bellowing roars boomed ahead. Like blade clashing with blade, shouts of people were frantically screaming.
Adaceus prepared himself instantly, equipping himself with the only weapon he had, the rusted knife and put on his mask. He woke up the girls from there slumber and hurriedly explained the danger up ahead, they understood and ran toward the trees to hide, accompanied by the wolfen soldier for their protection. He then called back the ursine, disappearing into plumes of fading smoke until its form was no longer present, and then went to the trail, following the lights guidance, turning left on the tress, where he saw people battling three gigantic beast's.
Two people, wearing light plate armor that covered parts of their bodies, all placing spears in front of them, directed toward the beast's.
At the very front of the group was a more decorated warrior, a large built man with thick plate covering his every surface, and his armor more designed with engravings of gold, a shield on his off hand and a vermillion cape hung on his back, raising at the beasts was his halberd - though compared to the size of the beast's he was left wanting; but he was on the ground kneeling, all battered and bruised, bleeding from open wound punctured in his armor. All their weapons were pointed toward the thrashing and gnashing beast that snarled at them, seemingly to protect that which was behind them, which was a carriage, and a man was hiding beside it.
The beast were large, 6 feet in width and were on all fours, the three of them all of the same species, bleeding cuts and lodged spears were plastered in their bodies. They were different from the ursine he killed yesterday from what he could tell. They looked like enlarged, hairless felines that had gray scales and smooth skin, sharp, thorny spike on their hard, bone plated backs and random tuffs of fur on their collars. All of them were bulging with muscle on their large forelimbs and their hinds were leathery and stout.
Adaceus intently watched the fight unfolding in front of him, shrouded by shadow so he could remain unseen by both sides as he moved to get a better view, hiding himself in between nearby trees.
One suddenly leapt at them but was stopped as a spear stabbed his shoulder, causing it recoil in pain, but at the expense of the spear as it broke on contact with its skin. The beast were now even more furious, their snarls growing louder as they went close; now that one of them was unarmed that prompted them to go closer.
This was when Adaceus revealed himself.
Raising his sword at them and using his fall, he drove his golden blade into the head of the the beast's with a spear on its shoulder, and it was felled instantly, the sword penetrating through and even hit the ground beneath. He skidded on the ground, striding and arriving in front of the men, and stared at the beast's down
"C'mon, then."
