In mid-summer, the stars filled starry sky,
whose flare blinked like the inebriate's eye,
in blinding night whose cloud veiled like curtain,
in heaven fair whose light shone like lantern.
In sea of night, full moon like pearl rose high,
whose moonlight like water fluttered with sigh,
in amber lake moonbeam condensed fountain,
in azure sea pearl moon emerged clone one.
In sea of stars, fresh wind shaked off mist fog,
whose breath mixed with lotus around blade frog,
in croaks of frogs fresh wind played lake's ripple,
in fragrant sea sweet wind passed through couple.
In summer night, the stars twinkled with moon,
and wind from fragrant sea came like monsoon.
