Lady wept because there was mild laughter,
whose laughter looked like blooming lavender,
who smiled toward rolling car like sunshine,
perhaps that smile rippled love lake's wave line.
Lady wept like dark cloud which fell light rain,
because outside window hid in curtain,
whose mist in eyes covered figure on street,
till tears dropped like fall dew down underfeet.
Lady wept like teapot which poured down tea,
because youngster farewelled like spray in sea,
as though story of theirs seemed like a dream,
as though love flower faded in sunbeam.
Perhaps rolling car drove toward distance,
perhaps love petal drifted with fragrance.
