Statue envied north breeze from tarctic sea,
because north breeze chilled petals from plum tree,
as though north breeze picked plum blossom like hand,
as though blooms fluttered down statue like sand.
Statue envied sunshine from rising sun,
because sunshine warmed rippling lake with tune,
as though sunshine shot at grove like arrow,
as though flowers blossom under window.
Statue envied petal from pale lily,
because petal fluttered down like fairy,
as though petal with fragrance swirled with wind,
as though fragrance gave statue peace of mind.
Statue envied river from snow mountain,
because rolling river roared with light rain.
