I was just seed of chestnut in gutter,
I was looking forward to spring flower,
as though fresh seed stretched out green bud on lawn,
as though flower bathed in sunshine at dawn.
I watched peach grove bloomed in full peach blossom,
I watched peach petals swirled with wind in dome,
as though petals fell like rain overhead,
as though peach blossoms filled fragrant bloom bed.
I stretched out greenish leaf in fragrant sea,
I sipped dew from petal which sipped like tea,
as though green leaf in leaves bathed in sunshine,
as though bright dew in lake rippled wave line.
Someday fresh seed grew into chestnut tree,
someday chestnut blossoms filled fragrant sea.
