I wandered like shadow in orange beam,
and like light dust drifted through crooning stream,
and like fall leaf fluttered through willow shore,
and like snowflake danced through icy arbor.
I laughed when willow branches turned umbrella,
I laughed when buds in shades spread aroma,
when spray on stream blossomed fairest flower,
when wind hit leaves along crooning water.
I wondered what if I walked on the path,
which was aisle paved with petals on path,
I might neither walk like shadow in beam,
nor laugh on shore as sweet as crooning stream.
I wondered how gorgeous beneath blue sky,
and was I free like dancing butterfly.
