You were as gorgeous as roses with sting,
coloring crooning river echoed spring,
and as pure as lily on amber lake,
standing in drifting pale petal snowflake.
You were as fragrant as orange tulips,
pervading fragrance at waving two lips,
and as grace as snowflake in mild sunshine,
dancing through blonde willow toward green pine.
You were as distant as pale cloud from me,
writing me letters above chestnut tree,
and as close as shadow walked at my side,
walking on beach with siren waving tide.
You were as dreamy as lost rosy dream,
and as brief as dawn fog curtain on stream.
