Adventurer like grass grew in desert,
smiling for sky's yellow as gold dessert,
for ground's burned as blonde coal burned in sunbeam,
for sand's gold ashes rolled in dried stream.
Adventurer like camel marched on sand,
witnessing that sun fell into wasteland,
that moon like pale beauty lay on cloud's bed,
that stars like lamps shined in street overhead.
Adventurer like walking death marched on,
marching through dried pond reflected full moon,
through dried river stretched toward distant sea,
through huge mountain with shade covered green lea.
Green land like foam of fish shined in sunbeam,
coloring yellow sand in waking dream.
