A pair of birds from south chanted at nest,
chanting whether east or west, nest's the best,
whether dawn sun raised, sunshine warmed as flame,
whether fall leaf yellowed, leaf danced as same.
A bunch of sunshine broke through blooming cloud,
passing through air with chillness beneath cloud,
through greenish hair of lush weeping willow,
through pale blossom of spot in gray shadow.
A piece of leaf yellowed and danced through path,
dancing like butterfly made peace with death,
through grove of pine stayed green by stream of time,
through glass of lake wrinkled wrinkles of time.
A pair of shadows wandered through willow,
through path of leaves under willow shadow.
