Hypnos.
Thanatos.
The aura of the twin gods gradually calmed, and the divine power emanating from them was restrained. Superior to all heroes, the twin gods had caused the deaths of countless gods over the past 20,000 years. No one knew the exact number, but their essence was stained dark red with the blood of the gods; a fact they paid little mind to.
Thanatos spoke in a low voice, "Hypnos, Lord Hades's aura has gradually faded from the Underworld..."
Clearly, Thanatos felt that this situation could lead to problems. Hades, who resided in the Underworld, typically exuded a continuous aura. However, as time passed, that aura was diminishing.
This was concerning. Even the Underworld fighters sensed it, aware that something might be amiss. Yet their duty was to follow Lord Hades's orders, participating in the war and fulfilling his missions.
As Hades's left and right hands, the twin gods began to contemplate the implications. Thanatos, known for his fiery temper, was particularly anxious, fearing potential complications.
"Um."
Hypnos nodded solemnly. "Don't worry. As long as there are no changes in the Underworld, it means Lord Hades is safe. We can't abandon the war outside; doing so would bring shame to Lord Hades."
"Infuriating!" Thanatos's expression was dark. To him, Lord Hades was paramount, and these so-called wars felt meaningless.
The Titan Wars might sound appealing, but to Thanatos, they held little significance. If it weren't for Lord Hades, he wouldn't even consider participating; the outcomes mattered not to him.
"Calm down!" Hypnos said sternly. "You know we can't disgrace Lord Hades at this critical juncture."
"I understand."
Thanatos fell silent, realizing he could not bring shame upon himself. To gods, reputation was crucial, especially for a god-king like Hades. While Hades might not care much for such things, Thanatos knew that any shameful act would haunt him.
"Rest assured," Hypnos reassured him, helping Thanatos relax. The twin gods exchanged glances and reentered the chaotic battlefield. The Titan Wars had truly reached a peak of madness.
"Aether!"
"Did you feel that?"
"Um!" Hemera nodded seriously. "I can sense it: Lord Hades's aura has completely vanished from the Underworld. However, there is no disturbance; everything remains stable. Our divine power and souls are unaffected. Lord Hades should be fine."
Hemera pondered for a moment before responding, "Even so, we must remain vigilant. If—"
"No!" Aether interrupted. "We cannot return to the Underworld. The Titan War has escalated to this point; none of us can abandon the battlefield. Even the Underworld fighters must stay. Leaving would be an embarrassment. As warriors of God and Darkness, we must uphold our honor before Lord Hades."
"Very well."
Hemera sighed in resignation, aware of the situation. Aether continued, "Inform our brothers and sisters with divine thoughts. No one is to return to the Underworld without cause. More importantly, we must prioritize our safety. While this battle is significant, our future is even more crucial. We cannot afford to lose our lives here."
Aether understood clearly that the Titan Wars were merely the beginning. The true challenges would come when the three god kings unleashed their full might. If they failed to survive until then, it would be an utter disgrace.
"I understand."
Hemera nodded and began conveying her thoughts to the Underworld gods. The moment they sensed Lord Hades's divine power had vanished, they began to regain their composure and focus on the battlefield.
After all, while the twin gods held higher status, the Underworld gods respected their elder brother and sister, who had always protected them.
In the Underworld's Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, Hades's divine body remained encased in crystal. What was once a transparent crystal had transformed into a pitch-black one, showing no signs of Hades, not even his aura.
It was no wonder the twin gods felt anxious. Hades was intrinsically linked to the Underworld, the gods of the Underworld, and its fighters. They knew he must be unharmed, yet they couldn't shake their concern. Who knew if something was truly wrong with Hades? Yet, retreating from the current battlefield was impossible.
The Titan Wars had escalated to a critical level. This conflict swept across the four realms: heaven, earth, sea, and Underworld, drawing nearly all gods into its tumultuous grasp, with only a few hidden deities remaining.
In this chaotic situation, the war continued, leading to frenzied bloodshed among the gods. As sanity waned, the violence reached terrifying heights.
Given the intensity of the Titan Wars, it was nearly impossible for the twin gods to disengage.
Within the Pure Land of Bliss, the brilliant crystal suddenly shattered as it transformed into pitch-black shards. Hades's dark eyes opened slowly, containing what seemed to be the essence of the entire world, revealing the beginnings and endings of all life.
