Skyler's POV
"How was school honey". Fira and I were on the kitchen island when Miguel returned from school.
"Amazing mum. But you weren't here to prepare me for my first time returning to school since I got sick". He dumped his bag on the floor and climbed on one of the stools.
"Are we supposed to drop our bags on the floor after school?" Fira's tone was strict. I hardly saw her being strict with Miguel.
"Kerry can pick it up".
Kerry was in the kitchen the next minute. She was the maid who usually assisted Claudia.
"It doesn't matter. He does these things by himself. He shouldn't bask in the pleasure of having people do this for him here. What happens when we return home?"
My heart sank and I locked eyes with her. She understood what I meant and whispered 'later'.
She was kidding me, right? She didn't plan on leaving again right?
"I'm sorry mum". Miguel bowed his head.
