Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Herd Riot

"Roar!!"

"Ow!"

The monsters raised their horns to the sky and charged forward.

Looking at the overwhelming army of monsters rushing toward them, everyone felt alarmed and turned to flee.

"The monsters are escaping!!"

"Go and summon the immortal!"

"Quickly ask the immortal to take action!"

Everyone took out a few jade slips and crushed them.

A moment later, an extremely terrifying aura descended upon the crowd.

In the distance, an old man with gray hair, dressed in a Taoist robe, stepped on a cloud formed by spiritual energy, strolling through the sky as he gradually descended.

"Greetings, Immortal!"

The members of the Colosseum knelt on the ground, gazing at the old man who descended from the air with eyes full of fervent reverence.

"Li Xianren, the monsters have escaped. We implore you to eliminate them!" someone shouted.

"Do you know the cost of this immortal's intervention?" the old man, Li Wei, asked indifferently.

"I do, but I urge you to act! The blood of a thousand monsters and a thousand slaves will surely reach your doorstep tomorrow," the crowd responded.

"Very well!" Li Xianren's expression turned cold as he surveyed the beast swarm before him. Instantly, a majestic and overwhelming aura swept across the area, causing all the monsters to freeze in their tracks, shocked by the pressure.

Li Wei was revered here, his cultivation unfathomable.

Everyone felt a surge of joy—now that Immortal Li was taking action, none of these beasts could escape!

"The mere foundation-building ants dare to call themselves immortals!" Lin Hao thought darkly.

True immortals were those who could transcend the earth and sky. Countless practitioners existed in the Sky Continent, categorized into realms such as Qi training, foundation building, Jindan, Nascent Soul, Shenhua, Dongxu, condensing body, transcending calamity, and combining Tao. Only those who reached the level of the Way could barely be considered immortals, and only upon perfecting the Way could they truly earn the title of "true immortal."

A foundation-building ant, momentarily suspended in the air by condensed spiritual energy, had the audacity to call himself an immortal?

If Lin Hao's old friends in the righteous path learned of this, the old man's soul would be captured and tormented for a thousand years to atone for his blasphemy against true immortals.

Li Wei's eyes gleamed, and he exerted an even greater pressure, shouting, "You fools! Get down now!"

Many monsters, their eyes bloodshot, roared in response. After a moment, a bloodthirsty tiger in the front kicked off and charged toward Li Wei.

"Huh?" Li Wei was taken aback; he hadn't expected any monster to dare resist him.

"It seems you are ignorant of my majesty and dare to defy me. Very well! I will seize this early demon and burn it to ashes!"

Li Wei took out a flame talisman and hurled it.

"Boom!"

The talisman exploded in a blaze, igniting the bloodthirsty tiger's body.

"Ow!" The bloodthirsty tiger fell to the ground, howling in agony as its body burned to a charred black, rolling in pain amid the flames.

However, this act did little to deter the rest of the monsters. Seeing such a scene only fueled their rage; they disregarded Li Wei's imposing presence and charged at him frantically.

"What!" Li Wei's expression shifted slightly.

The onlookers were equally shocked—how could the monsters resist the oppression of an immortal? How was this possible?

"Roar!"

In an instant, all the monsters surged toward Li Wei, the claws of several large eagles in the sky already reaching for his face.

"Seeking death!" Li Wei retaliated, unleashing a torrent of spiritual talismans—wind blades, frost, and explosive flames—creating a dazzling array of colors. All monsters that came near were obliterated, their blood and body parts splattering across the ground.

Yet, the more monsters he killed, the angrier they became. They surged forward desperately, undeterred by their losses, like a pack of lunatics unafraid of death.

These monsters had long since gone mad!

After enduring relentless torture, being shocked with electricity, and being fed madness-inducing elixirs, who could remain sane?

The monsters' fury was not something a mere foundation-building cultivator could suppress!

Infected by their rage, Lin Hao felt anger rising within him. How could he allow such ants to act so presumptuously?

Just as Lin Hao prepared to leap into the fray, he suddenly heard a series of "chacha" tweets from above.

Looking up, he saw a silver sparrow flapping its wings frantically overhead, calling out anxiously.

"You want me to escape?" Lin Hao could clearly sense Yin Que's thoughts.

"Chirp! Chirp!" Yin Que nodded vigorously.

Lin Hao was momentarily taken aback; had this silver sparrow developed sentience?

Realizing the urgency of the situation, Lin Hao calmed himself.

Yin Que was right—if he charged in now, he would undoubtedly perish!

He was not a lunatic; he was the reincarnation of Lei Zun of the World Extermination. It would be a tremendous joke if he met his end at the hands of a foundation-building ant!

"You bastard!" Lin Hao's face flickered with conflict. In his previous life, foundation-building ants would have perished with just a glance from him, yet now, he was being forced to flee.

"Chirp!" The silver sparrow descended, its small claws gripping Lin Hao's tail as it flapped its wings desperately, attempting to lift him.

Lin Hao, a two-meter-long black yin snake with a thick, powerful body, wasn't large among snakes, but he was quite heavy for the petite silver sparrow.

Undeterred, Yin Que continued to flap her wings vigorously and finally managed to lift Lin Hao into the air, heading toward the distant mountains.

Once airborne, Lin Hao grasped the vastness of the yard below.

The yard was circular, with a diameter of over 100 miles. City walls surrounded it, and he could see more than 1,000 large warehouses neatly arranged, all imprisoning monsters and slaves.

Fortunately, this yard was built close to the Monster Beast Mountain Range for easier capture of the monsters. Once he flew beyond the yard and crossed a river, he could quickly enter the Mountain Range.

"Damn! These lunatics! This immortal will destroy you!"

At that moment, Li Wei had already slain hundreds of monsters, yet some still managed to break through his magical attacks, leaving scratches on his head and back. Though these injuries were minor, they affected his pride.

As a dignified foundation-building cultivator, to be injured by a horde of low-level monsters was a disgrace to the Xianmen's honor!

"How dare you anger me! The old man will shed blood today and let you all pay the price!"

Li Wei took out a peach wood sword, spewing a mouthful of blood essence onto its edge.

"Blood sacrifice! Aura Killing Formation!"

Gritting his teeth, he threw down four milky-white low-grade spirit stones with great effort, placing them at the front, back, left, and right. He planted the peach wood sword into the ground and held a magic formula in his palm.

"Chi chi chi chi..."

In an instant, a powerful blade of spiritual energy erupted within a 100-meter radius, slicing through many monsters. In just a few breaths, half of the beasts fell, blood and body parts staining the ground, shocking all who witnessed it. The herd had suffered significant losses, creating a clear space in the chaos.

"Huh?" Li Wei suddenly sensed something and looked up, spotting a silver sparrow carrying a snake.

"What! There's actually a psychic demon!" At first, Li Wei was surprised, but soon, his face lit up with ecstasy.

"Haha! The heavens are aiding me! I shall claim these two psychic monsters for myself!"
