As the evening wore on, little Alejandra's excitement only grew. Her joy was infectious, filling the entire mansion with warmth and laughter. She ran from room to room, pulling her parents along as if trying to make up for the time they had been apart.
"Mommy, Daddy, come see what I made!" she exclaimed, tugging on Diana's hand with her tiny fingers.
Diana smiled, letting herself be led by her daughter. Alejandro followed closely behind, his gaze soft as he watched the two most important people in his life.
Alejandra stopped in the family room and pointed proudly to a drawing she had taped to the wall. It was a colorful depiction of a family standing together in a garden, complete with a bright yellow sun and a big red heart above their heads.
"That's us!" Alejandra said, beaming. "See? There's me, Mommy, and Daddy!"
Diana knelt down to examine the drawing, her heart swelling with emotion. "It's beautiful, sweetheart. You're such an amazing artist!"
