The announcement came during breakfast. Mr. Castillo, seated at the head of the long dining table, looked at Diana and Antonio with an air of authority. Antonio was invited to breakfast the previous night by Mr Castillo.
"I've arranged for the two of you to attend the business seminar in the city," he said, his tone leaving no room for debate. "It's important for the company's expansion, and I trust the two of you to represent our families well."
Diana's stomach twisted, her hand freezing mid-air as she reached for her glass of water. A glance at Alejandro, standing quietly by the doorway as part of his duties, revealed the tightening of his jaw and the faint flicker of emotion in his eyes before he quickly looked away.
"Of course, Mr. Castillo," Antonio replied with his usual charm, flashing a smile that irritated Diana. "I'll make sure we bring back only the best results."
