Alejandro led Diana inside his cottage, shutting the door softly behind them. The air was thick with unspoken words, but none of them mattered. In his arms, Diana felt the weight of the world ease, if only for a little while.
"I couldn't stay away," she admitted, her voice trembling as she looked up at him.
His thumb traced the curve of her cheek, his blue eyes stormy with restrained emotion. "Neither could I," he confessed, his words barely above a whisper.
The room was dimly lit, the soft glow of a single lamp casting long shadows. Alejandro's shirt was unbuttoned at the collar, exposing a glimpse of his tanned chest, and Diana couldn't stop herself from trailing her fingers along his skin.
"Diana," he murmured, his voice thick with warning and longing. But she silenced him with a kiss, pouring every ounce of her frustration and desire into it. His resolve crumbled instantly, and he kissed her back, his hands gripping her waist as if to anchor himself.
