"You don't understand what you're doing to me," he murmured, his voice strained as though he were fighting an internal battle.
Diana's breath hitched, her heart pounding so loudly she was sure he could hear it. "And what if I do?"
The words hung between them, a challenge, a confession. Alejandro's gaze dropped to her lips, and for a fleeting moment, she thought he might close the distance between them.
But then he stepped back, raking a hand through his hair. "This is dangerous, Diana," he said, using her first name for the first time. "You're playing with fire."
"Maybe I like the burn," she whispered, her voice trembling with both fear and desire.
Alejandro stared at her, his expression torn between wanting to pull her closer and needing to push her away. Finally, he shook his head. "You should go back to the mansion."
Diana felt a pang of disappointment, but she nodded, knowing he was right. "Goodnight, Alejandro."
