Diana spent the next few days trying to avoid Alejandro. Every time she thought about him, a certain kind of heat always spread through her thigh, that she couldn't explain, and she knew it was dangerous. She told herself she had to focus on her responsibilities...the reason she'd come back home, was to take her place in the family business, not fall for the family gardener...but her thoughts betrayed her at every turn.
She purposefully took routes through the mansion that avoided the garden, skipped breakfast on the terrace, and even found excuses to stay in her room when she suspected Alejandro might be nearby.
But avoiding him only made her more restless. At night, she lay in bed replaying their moments together...the accidental touch, the intensity in his gaze, the way his voice seemed to wrap around her like silk. She knew she was losing control of herself, and it terrified her.
