Ryan had also grown up with Zack and Mia.
The three had a good relationship.
So when he was very young, Ryan had already known that his sister was going to marry Zack in the future.
Zack has always been good to him, and Ryan was very satisfied with this future brother-in-law.
In his mind, Zack was already his brother-in-law.
Suddenly seeing another man and Mia being so close, Ryan couldn't believe his eyes.
"He, who is he? Sis, you..."
"Ryan, he..."
While Mia was still hesitant about how to introduce him, Ethan took her to the bed, looked down at the shocked Ryan, and said directly, "I am your brother-in-law."
Mia went quiet.
She couldn't even begin to imagine how Ryan would react.
"W-What?" Ryan was shocked once again. "You're my brother-in-law?"
He looked toward Mia like a lost child at a crossroads. "Sis, what's going on? Isn't my brother-in-law Zack? What happened?"
Ethan's expression darkened a little as he heard him mention Zack.
His solemn look was intimidating.
Ryan immediately shrank back.
Mia doted on him the most and instantly turned to glare at Ethan when she saw how afraid he was. "Why are you scaring Ryan, he's still a patient."
At this point, however, he was less afraid of Ethan.
Seeing how protective she was, Ethan said, "He's so timid for a boy, is this your doing?"
"It's you who's too terrifying." As someone of a "protective nature", Mia had become a lot gutsier than before. She talked back at him, "Ryan isn't this timid usually."
On the hospital bed.
Ryan had just snapped out of his shock.
He looked at Mia, then turned his gaze towards Ethan beside her. He still found it hard to accept this fact. "Sis, is he really my brother-in-law?"
Mia felt an intense glare directed at her the moment Ryan asked the question.
She paused for a moment before nodding. "Yup."
Ryan was stunned.
"Then, you and Zack..."
That terrifying brother-in-law glared at him again.
Ryan stopped mid-sentence and dared not go on.
Mia looked at him calmly and explained, "He and I have broken up."
Ryan was taken aback. "Why?"
He stole a glance at Ethan and suddenly thought of a possibility. He felt uncomfortable about it.
This supposed brother-in-law was evidently of a different league from Zack.
He was way more handsome than Zack and gave off a more respectable aura—one that Zack never did.
To be fair, Zack was a decent candidate.
But if one had to compare him to this man over here, the contrast was stark.
One was a trust fund kid from an ordinarily rich family, while the other was a powerful man with a background akin to that of a royal family. There was no room for discussion.
Ryan wondered if his sister had cheated!
He despised such acts of unfaithfulness.
But Mia was his biological sister.
If she really did it, what was he to do?
Just as Ryan was running through these thoughts and wondering whether to forgive his sister for her wrongdoing, Mia coldly said, "He got together with Angie."
Ryan kept quiet for a few seconds before widening his eyes in a mix of shock and fury. "He cheated?! He's with Angie now? How could they do this to you..."
Mia was expressionless. "In any case, he and I are over."
"Yup, your sister and he are over. The man who has anything to do with her now is me." Ethan took a few steps forward and placed his hand on Mia's shoulder gently.
Mia went quiet.
And so did Ryan.
