A month later she return back in camp. She still have aches on the shoulder but overall she is fine. The soldiers all welcome her back. The Tang flag is still fly on the pole. They are waiting for her return to keep it. With happiness, she lower it down and fold it. Putting it back into the chest, she pat it gently and close it. She look around and realised that someone is still missing.
"Man Chun, where is the troublemaker? "
"General, he is sent back home."
"Is he..."
"No general he is fine. He had over strain his muscles at his back, a few cuts plus he had fever as well. So the physicians decided that it is best that he sent home to be taken care of. He is after all the only son of Marquis BaiLi, we have to do so to respect the Marquis."
"How many soldiers are injured?"
"Quiet a few. We are taking care of them. Most of the injured are those new recruits of local citizens."
"Take extra care of them and give them day off after they have recover. Those who come with us on escorting, give me their names and their titles if there is any. I need to pay and give out rewards for survival."
"If it wasn't BaiLi Yan Rui quick thinking and Duke Su arrive in time. The entire troop will be dead"
"What did troublemaker do?"
"He thought of the smoke signal. Was searching for it while avoiding the incoming attacks. The injured solider, he drag them aside and told them to pretend to be dead. Also gave them a sword or arrow just incase the enemy is near them."
"That is interesting."
"Also general he is the one who found you laying in the grass. We follow your instruction to carry the flag to capital for help. Just our luck, Duke Su is at the outskirt. That's why we are able to save everyone in time."
"Who is the one attacking, any one find out?"
"The clues left by the dead, seems to belong to the neighbouring country that we are at war with the last time. The enemies that we had captured refused to say what and what and where they are from."
"Is the investigation bureau and Duke Su is questing them. It will be while. before we have a conclusion."
"I think they might want the ores to make weapons. Or weaken our sources. Whatever it is, we need to guard the miners. They might not be in best conditions. Well that is not for me to concern now. I better take care of my men before others!"
Two weeks later, BaiLi Yan Rui is still not back in camp. Tang Li personally go to the marquis mansion to visit the troublemaker with Man Chun. Old Marquis BaiLI comes out to welcome Tang Li upon her arrival. He meet her in the main hall and welcome her. "General Tang, i heard that you are injured. Yet you are here today."
"Marquis BaiLi, it's nothing. I owe my small life to your son. He help me and his fellow comrades. So my visiting today is nothing."
"You are indeed humble as news have said."
"How is the young master BaiLI?"
"He is ... well but he is ... i not sure. However the physician comes here almost every. He said that my son is recovering well. I think i will send him back to camp once he is well enough."
"Don't rush into that Marquis BaiLi. He after all make a huge contribution to secure the ores for our nation. I have written to the emperor on praising his actions. Duke Su alway will vouch for his actions."
Maquis BaiLi is delighted and he is smiling nonstop. After talking about the future plans for Young master BaiLi, Marquis BaiLi show her to his son's bedroom to see him before she leaves and return to camp. As they walk there, she hear shouting of joy. Old Marquis BaiLi got nervous and clear his throat. They walk up to a bedroom the shout of joy is echoing from this room. The old marquis open the door to find his son playing crickets with his servant in the room. Yan Rui is shock to see his father standing there. Then he sees there is another person behind his father. He slowly get up from the chair while his servant hurry to keep the crickets and clean the table. Old Marquis BaiLi hand gesture the servant to leave the room. Tang Li bend over from the back of old marquis and look at the troublemaker.
"Tang Li! You are here! Are you fi..."
"You rascal!!! How dare you call her by her name!!!! You!!! Come here!! Aren't you sick in bed!! Still have the energy to play!!" Old marquis chase his son around the room trying to hit him. Tang Li stands there with her hands behind her back. She watch them go round and round. Till she catch his collar, the game stops and old Marquis BaiLi can catch his breath.
"Man Chun go and help Marquis BaiLi."
As Man Chun help the marquis to sit on the chair properly and serve tea to him. While Tang Li hold on tightly to the slippery troublemaker. Yan Rui is rather happy to see her. He stand still with her holding his collar.
"I was waiting for you to come here."
"Why are you waiting for me? To fetch you back in a grand style back to camp, is it?"
"No. Just want to show you around the Marquis mansion. It will be ..."
She quickly shut him up and look at old marquis.
"It looks like he is fine. Is it fine that i bring him back to camp today?"
