With the Dowager and the empress off to the royal temple, Xian Wen spend his days watching Shung Yan and his son. The emperor is loving that a crown prince is born. He is treating mother and son by giving them the best. However sometimes, his lust side of him comes and he force Lady Su to give in to him. Xian Wen cannot understand why and how his brother can be so mean sometimes.
Everyday he watch them silently behind the secret wall. He can hear the little one bubbling and Lady Su is playing with him. Occasionally his brother will come in just to annoy her. When the child sleeps, everyone except the mother stays in the room. Lady Su will take a nap along with her child. Xian Wen will walk out to take a look at the baby and his wife. He sits in between them. One in the cradle the other on the couch. He touch their hands and sometimes his son will grab his finger. While sometimes Lady Su will dream of him and call his name. Sometimes when she lay on the big bed, he will lay down quietly beside her. He doesn't intend to do anything but he just want to be near her as much as he can. Xian Wen knows that he can't live in the palace for long.
3 months is up, the dowager and empress returns. Xian Wen sit in the dowager's bed room. She walks in with her personal eunuch and the door is close. He greet her and they sit down. The eunuch then start to make tea for them.
"How is everything? I trust you have done what you needed to do."
"Yes. I have waited my son growing up everyday. There is nothing more i can do for them."
"Xian Wen, i think the next step you need to do is, to leave the palace. To be at some where safe."
He nod his head. "I have also that in mind, mother."
"I will arrange for Lady Su to meet ..."
"Mother, it is best that she doesn't know that i am alive and the child is not my brother but mine. Keep her in the dark, is to keep her safe from danger."
"You don't plan to meet her anymore?"
"I will let fate decided that. For now i will leave."
She sigh and nod her head, The eunuch then served the hot tea to his masters and await for the next instructions.
After the monk bless the crown prince, Xian Wen followed them out to the holy temple without anyone noticing him. HIs mother watched him from far.
Xian Wen followed and disappear in the crowd who are celebrating the 3 month old crown prince. He goes to the Su mansion and stay there for awhile. Even though the mansion is big, he met little peach. Both of them did not know their identity till one night Duke Su quietly reveal that little Peach is his daughter. Duke Su told him the story of him and his concubines. The angry and frustrations that he and Shung Yu had been. Xian Wen feel sad for the child, His daughter born under the pressure and unwanted situation. He don't know and don't remember her. Maybe somethings are best left alone since the Duke and his wife is happy to have little peach around. "She may grow up to be like you. She was asking me to teach her sword dance. Also she doesn't like to unfairness or someone in distress, She have your character in that sense."
"I hope Duke Su will guide her the right path to walk."
"As long as she is willing to be under my wings, i will teach her everything. I can't teach my daughters but i can teach her. "
Xian Wen continue to stay for a few more days. Unexpectedly, Lady Su comes to visit with her son. An entourage follow her behind. Duke Su did not allow the guards to come in as his mansion is already fully guarded and only 2 maids and 2 eunuch is allow inside. He send the message to the emperor regarding about the number if people. Requesting only when she is retuning to the palace, they can come to pick her up. The emperor agree upon if everyday morning and night, there is a message from Lady Su to him.
Lady Su and the crown prince will be staying at the Su mansion for fourteen days. These days Lady Su's parents are fighting to carry the little crown prince. While peach wants her mother's attention. It is chaos that Xian Wen sees in a distance. The Duke knows that he should set up the chance for his daughter and the son-in-law. Without the prying eyes from the palace, the chance is now. The old couple takes the chance to take care of the two children while their daughter go to her bedroom in the quietly courtyard to sleep. Xian Wen can see from his hiding place what his father-in-law wanted to do. A chance maybe to talk to Shung Yun alone.
