Chapter 58 - Chapter 58: The Rebirth Mirror (Part 2)

Upon hearing that Guo Xingyue planned to refine a batch of Recovery Pills, Ye Yue exclaimed excitedly, "That's great! Second Uncle, you must teach me how to make Recovery Pills!" Guo Xingyue nearly choked on his words. This girl wanted to run before she could walk; she had only studied alchemy for a few days and was already eager to learn how to make such advanced pills. He thought to himself that without the cultivation level of a Late Stage Out-of-Body cultivator, she wouldn't be able to refine Recovery Pills at all. Not wanting to dampen her enthusiasm for learning, he said, "Yue'er wants to learn how to make Recovery Pills—that's wonderful! However, you must first build a solid foundation in alchemy. There's an old saying in my hometown: 'A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.' I promise to teach you how to make Recovery Pills in the future."

Since discussing alchemy with the head of the Baicao Sect, Cheng Qian, and with Li Yanfeng, Guo Xingyue had gained a deeper understanding of alchemy and improved his operational skills. Moreover, although Recovery Pills are top-tier medicinal pills, Guo Xingyue had successfully refined them multiple times. The entire process—preparing the materials, igniting the fire, harmonizing the properties, protecting the pills, and finally opening the cauldron—had become second nature to him. His movements were fluid, and a series of hand seals were executed rapidly. The energy from the lightning ball, combined with his Three-flavor True Fire, allowed him to compress the time required for refining the Recovery Pills from over three months to just half a month.

After casting the final hand seal to complete the last stage of pill collection, Guo Xingyue's joy was palpable. Not only had he shortened the refining time, but he also produced more than fifty Recovery Pills in this batch. He thought to himself, "Looks like I truly have a talent for alchemy!" His moment of self-satisfaction was interrupted by applause.

Turning around, Guo Xingyue realized Bai Fan and the other three scattered immortals had arrived. He hurriedly approached them, saying, "Elders, when did you arrive? I failed to welcome you properly; please forgive me."

Bai Fan chuckled, "We arrived quite a while ago but didn't want to disturb you while you were refining pills. It's been over a decade since we last met; your cultivation has skyrocketed! You seem to refine Recovery Pills with such ease—truly enviable."

Guo Xingyue quickly downplayed it, saying, "It's just a minor skill, nothing to mention. You flatter me, Elders."

Standing nearby, Chi Yan interjected loudly, "Brother Guo, you excel in everything, but your excessive modesty is a flaw. As cultivators, while we should be humble and willing to learn from others, being overly humble borders on insincerity."

Guo Xingyue thought, "Indeed, the cultivators I've interacted with have all been straightforward; they don't mince words. It seems I've been deeply influenced by Confucian ideals from the Pangu Star." With a self-deprecating smile, he said, "Elder Chi Yan, you speak the truth; I'll take that to heart. Please follow me, Elders; I'll introduce you to Elder Li."

Guo Xingyue led the four scattered immortals to the Grand Elder's Hall, where Li Yanfeng had been waiting. They quickly paid their respects, and Li Yanfeng raised his hand, saying, "No need for formalities; sit down and talk."

Once everyone was seated on their cushions, Guo Xingyue introduced the four scattered immortals. After the customary greetings, he asked, "Elder Li, can we use the Rebirth Mirror now?"

Li Yanfeng chuckled, "Using it is fine, but your immortal essence alone isn't enough. You'll need assistance. This treasure is significant, and without your consent, I wouldn't dare disclose it to anyone else."

Guo Xingyue was taken aback. Although this artifact was one of the ten greatest celestial artifacts, he lacked the immortal essence to utilize it. He didn't care much for it, but Li Yanfeng's tone suggested that it was significant. Could it be that celestial beings might come down to rob someone as inconspicuous as him? He replied, "Since using this celestial artifact requires assistance, please help facilitate that."

Li Yanfeng nodded in agreement and took out a communication jade, quickly casting a series of hand seals. Moments later, a figure appeared in the hall—an imposing man dressed in purple, who was none other than Lin Zhongyang.

Lin Zhongyang didn't acknowledge the others in the hall and simply asked Li Yanfeng, "Why did you call for me in such a hurry? Why not explain clearly?"

With a smile, Li Yanfeng handed the Rebirth Mirror to Lin Zhongyang, saying, "Old Lin, take a look at this."

Lin Zhongyang casually took the mirror and remarked, "This is a fine item. It appears to be a top-quality celestial artifact. But, old Li, you know I'm no expert in crafting. If you expect me to guess what this is, you're making it hard for me."

Li Yanfeng chuckled, "Old Lin, take a closer look."

Intrigued, Lin Zhongyang examined the mirror closely and attempted to channel some of his immortal essence into it. Suddenly, the mirror shone brightly, and a large hole appeared in the ceiling of the hall. Startled, Lin Zhongyang exclaimed, "What a powerful artifact! This thing resembles the legendary Rebirth Mirror."

"It's not just similar; it is the Rebirth Mirror."

"What?!" Lin Zhongyang was shocked and asked, "Old Li, where did you find this? If it appears here, wouldn't that throw the celestial realm into chaos?"

Li Yanfeng laughed, "This Rebirth Mirror belongs to Brother Guo here. The reason I called you was to ask for your help."

Li Yanfeng briefly explained how Guo Xingyue obtained the Rebirth Mirror and mentioned Guo Xingyue's request: to assist Bai Fan and the other three scattered immortals in reincarnation. Lin Zhongyang, a straightforward person, immediately agreed.

Although the four scattered immortals came from different cultivation sects, after a discussion, they unanimously decided to be reborn on the Blue Water Star. Each scattered immortal entrusted their storage bracelet to Guo Xingyue, asking him to deliver it to the Yangming Sect's leader on Blue Water Star when he had the opportunity.

Li Yanfeng performed a series of hand seals to make the Rebirth Mirror hover in the air. He then quickly cast more hand seals, causing the bronze mirror to emit a soft white light. As Li Yanfeng continued his gestures, the white light thickened and brightened, and he began to look strained. Seeing this, Lin Zhongyang quickly placed his hand against Li Yanfeng's back, helping to stabilize the light beam and creating a light column in the hall.

With a low shout, Li Yanfeng instructed, "You four must enter the light circle one at a time! Be quick!"

Each of the scattered immortals bowed to the two seniors and Guo Xingyue before stepping into the light circle in sequence. As each scattered immortal entered the circle, Li Yanfeng executed a series of hand seals. After a dazzling flash of light, the space where the immortal stood would be empty, leaving behind only their discarded garments. When the final scattered immortal completed their reincarnation, both Li Yanfeng and Lin Zhongyang were utterly drained, having exhausted their immortal essence. They took out pills and sat cross-legged on their cushions to recover.

Guo Xingyue, feeling idle and wary of leaving recklessly, waved his hand and retrieved the hovering Rebirth Mirror, scrutinizing it carefully, but found nothing new. He placed the mirror on a nearby table and also sat on a cushion to rest and recover the true essence consumed during the alchemy process.
