Chapter 23 - Private helicopter

"WTF!" Since that day, Fang Jueyu had lost count of how many times he had said these two words.

Diseases that are still considered terminal by humans can be cured, and if this were revealed to the medical world, it would be a bombshell. And yet, such a treasure was discarded by his ancestors as mere trash. Could there be anything more wasteful than that?

Compared to them, Fang Jueyu thought he was extremely frugal. His so-called reckless spending paled in comparison.

If even the things his ancestors threw away had such powerful effects, Fang Jueyu couldn't help but wonder what kind of otherworldly treasures might be waiting for him in future tasks. The thought filled him with anticipation.

Carefully, he placed the small bottle back into the space. Although it wasn't useful now, who knew when it might come in handy?

...

"Hello? Mr. Lu, where are you?" Fang Jueyu asked.

"I'm still stuck on the elevated highway," Lu replied. Despite getting up early to head to Shanghai for ChinaJoy, Fang Jueyu had underestimated the event's pull. Enthusiasts from all over the country had swarmed in, and by 6 or 7 a.m., the traffic had already become severely congested.

"Mr. Piao, why don't you go ahead first? I'll meet you at the venue!" Fang Jueyu suggested, not wanting to hold them up, knowing Mr. Piao had arranged to meet several friends that day.

Piao's real name was Liu Yimou, and after making his first fortune in professional esports, he settled in Shanghai.

If it were any other day, he wouldn't mind waiting, but today he had arranged to meet a big shot—a major player, not just in Zhubo Live, but one of the most well-known second-generation rich kids in China. He couldn't afford to keep him waiting.

In Liu Yimou's mind, no matter how rich Fang Jueyu was, he couldn't be richer than this guy. The guy's family might not be the wealthiest in China, but they were definitely in the top three, and the names of these top heirs were known to everyone. Fang Jueyu couldn't compare.

Liu Yimou had invited Fang Jueyu to ChinaJoy primarily to expand his social network.

"Alright then, to be honest, I've arranged to meet Mr. Wang today. Call me when you get here, and I'll introduce you."

"Sure! See you at the convention center!" Fang Jueyu replied cheerfully.

Of course, Fang Jueyu knew who this "Mr. Wang" was: Wang Cong, the son of China's third-richest tycoon, Wang Lin. He had gone viral with the quote, "I never care if my friends are rich—after all, they definitely won't be richer than me."

Despite being a second-generation rich kid, Wang Cong had proven himself to be highly capable, with a strong moral compass. His candid comments online often garnered applause.

Previously, Fang Jueyu had no chance of crossing paths with such a person, but now, fate had given him the opportunity. It was truly amazing how life could change.

"What's going on up ahead? We've been stuck here for two hours, and the traffic hasn't budged!" Fang Jueyu, who had been holding in his need to pee for a while, was losing patience.

"If only I had a helicopter!" Fang Jueyu muttered casually.

"Master, you do!" came Xiao Yi's voice in his head.

"I know! I get my seafood and beef delivered by private plane all the time," Fang Jueyu retorted. "But there's no landing space here! Even if I had a helicopter, it wouldn't help."

"No, I mean you have your own personal helicopter!" Xiao Yi clarified.

"I have a helicopter?" Fang Jueyu was stunned. "Oh yeah, with all my other stuff, having a helicopter isn't so surprising."

Excited, Fang Jueyu immediately pulled out his phone and called Zhuang Ying.

"Young Master, have you arrived in Shanghai?" Zhuang Ying asked, enjoying her morning at the villa with a face mask on.

"Don't even mention it. There's been a traffic accident, and nothing's moved for hours. I'm not even sure I'll make it to Shanghai before dark!"

"Oh, is that all? Send me your location, and I'll have a helicopter pick you up," Zhuang Ying said, as if it were the most normal thing in the world, as though taking a helicopter was as ordinary as taking the subway or bus.

Fang Jueyu quickly sent her his location.

"Hold on for a bit. Your personal helicopter is on standby at Shanghai's airport. It'll take no more than 20 minutes to reach you."

"Thank you, Ying!"

"Being rich sure has its perks," Fang Jueyu sighed as he reclined in his seat, knowing he'd soon be out of this traffic nightmare.

Sure enough, 20 minutes later, a loud rumble filled the air, and a sleek, black helicopter descended from the sky, drawing gasps from onlookers.

"Damn… that's huge!" Fang Jueyu had expected a small helicopter, but this one was practically the size of a transport chopper, with a downwash so powerful it seemed it might crush the cars below.

"Master, this helicopter was modified from a retired American AH-64 attack helicopter. It's 17.8 meters long and 5.23 meters wide. Mr. Fang Huai secretly bought it years ago for $1.2 billion."

"My dad sure knows how to live large," Fang Jueyu muttered, dumbfounded.

"Why's the helicopter stopping? Is it picking someone up?"

"Wow, I've never seen a helicopter this big. Is it a private chopper?"

"Maybe it's for an emergency medical evacuation?"

"Quick, get it on video! This is going viral for sure!"

As the crowd speculated, four men in black rappelled from the helicopter. They quickly secured a Porsche Cayenne with ropes before returning to the helicopter.

"Wait, what's going on? I thought they were picking me up, not my car!" Fang Jueyu was perplexed as the helicopter lifted off, effortlessly hoisting the two-ton SUV into the air.

"Hey, let me down!" Fang Jueyu shouted, not quite ready for this unconventional way of flying. He'd been on planes before, but this? This was new territory. And who knew if those ropes would hold? If they snapped, he'd be nothing but a smear on the ground.

"Hahaha, relax, Master! This helicopter's powerful enough to lift a tank, and the ropes are specially made. Nothing under ten tons could snap them!"

"But that doesn't make me feel any better!"

"I think I'm going to throw up…"

Amid Fang Jueyu's panicked cries, the helicopter made its way to the ChinaJoy venue, attracting endless stares along the way.

Little did Fang Jueyu know that within minutes, videos of the scene had gone viral across social media platforms, even trending on Weibo's hot search list.
