Chapter 8 - Personal Assistant

After explaining everything to Zhuang Ying, Zhuang Hanzhong took his leave. Standing on the balcony, Fang Jueyu finally noticed that Zhuang Hanzhong had arrived in a Rolls-Royce Phantom. The gleaming golden statuette nearly blinded him.

The price of this car must be calculated in millions, and it even seemed to have a dedicated chauffeur. Combined with Zhuang Hanzhong's elegant demeanor, it was clear that he was a man of considerable wealth. Yet, such a person was merely managing a portion of his grandfather's assets?

"Young Master, I'll call you that from now on!" After their brief interaction, Zhuang Ying had gotten a sense of Fang Jueyu's personality, and the way she addressed him was clearly meant to tease him.

"Uh... you're older than me, so why don't I just call you Sister Xiaoying?" Fang Jueyu felt a bit embarrassed by the formal title, and his face even reddened slightly.

With a man and a woman alone in a room, the atmosphere became a little awkward, but Zhuang Ying broke the silence first.

"Young Master, perhaps you should consider moving to a new place. This apartment is... well, a bit small."

Although the Zhuang family had only managed a portion of the Fang family's assets, Fang Jueyu's grandfather had given Zhuang Hanzhong shares and dividends, which had turned the Zhuang family into a powerful one. Zhuang Ying herself lived in a small villa of over 500 square meters.

While she didn't know the exact extent of Fang Jueyu's wealth, she had heard from her grandfather that the assets he managed were just a drop in the ocean. Even he wasn't sure how much the Fang family really owned.

But one thing was certain: if the Fang family wished, they could collapse the world economy in an instant. The wealth accumulated over thousands of years was unimaginable.

"Move to a new place?"

"Yes, you have properties in almost every major city. If you tell me where you'd like to live, I can make arrangements right away."

Fang Jueyu's mouth twitched. Properties in every major city? Even the richest person in the country might not have such a vast portfolio. He was beginning to realize just how little he knew about his own family.

After thinking for a moment, he remembered that his parents were off searching for his grandfather. There wasn't much tying him to this city, and since he was attending Jiangnan University, he figured he might as well move to Jiangnan City.

"Let's go to Jiangnan City then, somewhere close to Jiangnan University," Fang Jueyu decided.

"One moment, please." Zhuang Ying pulled out a tablet. There was no way she could remember all this information off the top of her head.

She typed something into the tablet, and a whole page of results popped up. Fang Jueyu glanced at it, and it seemed to be filled with names of residential complexes.

"Found it. There's a place called Jiangnan Garden, about 3.5 kilometers from Jiangnan University. You own a detached villa there, which might be suitable for you."

"Tell me about it," Fang Jueyu asked.

"This villa was designed by a European architect, with a total area of 1,600 square meters. It has a swimming pool, a garden, and a small parking lot. The villa is situated in the center of an artificial lake, and it's currently valued at about 280 million yuan."

Fang Jueyu nearly choked on his water. A house worth 280 million yuan? That was nearly 180,000 yuan per square meter! This was practically gold-plated!

"If you'd like to go there, I can make the arrangements now." Zhuang Ying was quite pleased with Fang Jueyu's reaction. She liked seeing him act as if he had never seen such wealth before. Dealing with a young master unaware of his own fortune would be interesting.

"Of course I'm going! Why wouldn't I?" Fang Jueyu had just returned home yesterday and hadn't unpacked, so he could leave immediately.

But as he looked around the place he had lived in for the past twenty years, he couldn't help but feel a bit melancholic. His parents had left so suddenly, leaving the house empty. It made him feel like an orphan.

"Sister Xiaoying, about this place..."

"I understand, Young Master," Zhuang Ying said, reading his thoughts. "I'll arrange for people to come regularly and clean. You can come back whenever you want."

"Thank you!" Fang Jueyu sincerely appreciated her thoughtfulness.

"It's my honor to serve you, Young Master! Shall we leave now?"

"Yeah, let's go!" Fang Jueyu grabbed a family photo of the three of them and walked out of the building.

"Young Master, is this your car?" Zhuang Ying asked, looking somewhat surprised at the sight of a Porsche Cayenne parked in the garage. This car didn't seem fitting for someone of Fang Jueyu's status.

"Uh... is there something wrong with it?" Fang Jueyu could feel the judgment in her gaze, sensing that she looked down on him a bit.

"Why don't I have a car sent over for you? And perhaps arrange a chauffeur to make your daily travel more convenient?"

"No need. I don't want to go around with a chauffeurall day, looking like some nouveau riche second-generation heir," Fang Jueyu said.

Zhuang Ying gave him a sidelong glance. He wasn't just some second-generation heir. If anything, "scion of a noble family" would be a more fitting term.

"I've already ordered a custom sports car. It should arrive in two weeks. I'll drive myself, no need for a chauffeur." Fang Jueyu had gotten his driver's license during the summer after the college entrance exams. He hadn't driven much since, so the Cayenne was perfect for brushing up on his skills.

"That works too. But, Young Master... are you sure your driving skills are up to par?" Zhuang Ying hesitated, wondering if it was wise to get into the car with him.

"Don't worry! I may look young, but I'm an experienced driver!" Fang Jueyu replied casually, though he had only driven three times since getting his license. However, with his recent physical enhancements, his reaction time and coordination had improved, so he felt confident even in a race car, let alone on regular roads.

"Alright then. It's about a two-hour drive to Jiangnan Garden from here. If you get tired, just let me know, and I'll take over," Zhuang Ying said as she settled into the passenger seat, ready to relax.

"You have a lot of faith in me!" Fang Jueyu smoothly started the car and pulled out of the parking spot.

"My family owes everything to your grandfather. Without him, I wouldn't even be alive. So, if we were to die in a car crash today, it'd just be repaying that debt."

"Is it really that serious?" Fang Jueyu mumbled. What had his grandfather done to earn such undying loyalty from this family?

"From today on, my life will never be the same!" Fang Jueyu looked up at the sky, knowing that every day from now on would be filled with surprises.
