Today is two weeks after my one year reincarnation anniversary.
Because of what the hospital staff told Hana, both of my parents we're certain I'd unlock an intelligence quirk. I'd 'reached' milestones much earlier than expected, I could read a little, whenever I spoke, it was in broken sentences. An average baby would talk around another year.
More importantly.
Things have only gone downhill since Sato's firing.
I could tell he never loved me as much as Hana did, which was fair, It's not easy to love something that clearly doesn't love you back. I was an exceedingly silent and unemotional child, similar to a moving doll without a real personality.
That being said, he didn't actually hate me either. He made it a point to spend time with me throughout the day, doing his best to act like a loving father. I played along mostly to hide my reincarnated nature, but also because I was genuinely curious.
Sato was fired near the start of the month, meaning they already had paid for a month worth of my daycare. Unfortunately, the place wouldn't accept refunds, so Sato would send me there, and when I was gone, he would go around the city applying to jobs in person. When he was at home, he'd try hard not to become a freeloader, cooking, cleaning, applying for more jobs online, doing absolutely anything to help his family.
That same routine went by for around three weeks, and his frustration was building up. There wasn't anyone that was replying to his job applications. He started smoking occasionally, and I wasn't sure exactly when, but he'd started watching anti-quirk videos on YouTube.
His viewing habits didn't matter to me, yet I could see this ending badly, so I had tried to stop him a few times. Since I couldn't talk, each attempt resulted in failure as he would just carry me away into a baby proofed room.
Fast-forward another week, Hana declined paying for another month of daycare to save money.
Sato, perhaps because of his depression, he began watching extremist anti-quirk videos. He was falling apart faster than I had anticipated. Initially, I just pestered him enough where he would move me out of the room and go back to his computer.
Now that daycare was out of the picture, I was spending far more time in Sato's company. His patience seemed to wear thin quickly, and he stopped concealing his growing dislike for me, as if he was being forced to take care of me.
He began leaving me in that room for hours with nothing to do, rarely checking in on me.
Quite devastating for a child such as myself.
He'd put me there whenever he was doing chores, not just whenever I was annoying him. It was clear that he wasn't doing it as a punishment, almost like he couldn't stand to look at me at times.
He was also growing distant to Hana, who conveniently was working overtime. talking to her less, intentionally avoiding her in the same house, lying about mundane things.
Assuming it was because of his depression, Hana, already knowing about his problems, tried to get him to talk about it, to help him feel better. Each time, getting brushed off.
Sigh
This wasn't good.
Personally, I'd prefer to continue living with my parents, but I wasn't willing to do anything that'd expose me.
I'd chosen the wait and see approach.
Another two weeks went by.
Hana, being a social person, had noticed Sato was avoiding her almost immediately. However, she understood his reasons and refrained from mentioning it. It was only when she realized I had begun to avoid him as well that she decided to confront him about it.
"Sato. We need to talk."
Sato paused the video he was watching, took off his headphones, and turned towards her, avoiding eye contact.
"What's up?"
He already sounded defensive."
You've been avoiding us, right?"
"Avoiding you two? You're imagining it."
"Sato, I'm not messing around here, I didn't mind leaving you some time to yourself, but Kiyotaka has begun avoiding you too." She placed her hand on her hip.
"I... didn't mean for that to happen."
"It doesn't matter what you meant to happen. You know Kiyotaka's a special child. He doesn't show much emotion. He's much smarter than average, but he's not 'that' smart. For all he knows, you might just hate him. All you're doing by avoiding us is making things worse."
"I'm... sorry... It's just... I've been really frustrated. None of the places I applied to have replied to me, some of which declining my resume because I didn't show my quirk on it." Sato spoke, feeling pity for himself."
I know, It sucks, but there's nothing you can do about that. Instead of just mopping around, scaring away Kiyo-Chan, you should take a break from searching for a few days. Relax a little bit, take Kiyo out with you to have some fun. It's only been a month since you started job hunting, I'm sure someone will contact you soon. Just be patient."
He looked up at her, guilt written all over his face.
"I'll try my best."
Walking towards the bathroom, she turned back at him with her face unchanging.
"You'd better... We can't keep going like this."
Over his few day break, Sato took me out on to have fun. He gave me a few options, I chose the amusement park, specifically Amagi Brilliant Park, having never been to one before.
(edit)
Leaving in the morning to hopefully avoid any long lines or crowds, not that there were any, we walked through the front gates and greeted the receptionist. She said my ticket was half off and waved us off as he carried me inside.
I couldn't go on any of the with a height limit I guess they don't make many scary rides for seven month old's, with all the rides I could go on being slow and boring, we went to watch All Might fight the evil criminal el ginger-man.
"BWAHAHAHAHA, I'm gonna cover the whole world in GinGER!"
"Oh no! Everyone be careful, El ginger is attacking the crowd!"
I was unusually tall for seven and a half months old, easily mistaken for a toddler. Already walking too.
El ginger ran to the group for a hostage, and being as bored as I was this past year, I figured why not put my hand up.
He moved the fence over, I walked towards the stage, while el ginger had his hand on my back, lightly pushing me forward.
"MWAHAHAH I'm going to spray my ginger juice on you !"
"Oh no! el ginger man is attacking the poor pink haired child!" The woman on stage yelled.
"aaaahh. help. all might." I yelled in lowercase with one hand in my pocket. Unsuspiciously.
A man about six feet tall, an abnormally large head, and, except for two large strands which were pointing up, his blonde hair was pushed back. Walked out from behind the curtains and crossed his arms, his mouth did not open but he started talking.
"HAHAHAHA, Fear not child! For I am here!"
The children in the group all cheered. Then el ginger's put his hand onto my shoulder."
Back away All Might, if you come any closer then some bad things will happen!
"How lame. I suppose that's what you'd expect from a show aimed at kids.
"You evil criminal! Let that innocent child go!" he pointed his finger at me.
"El ginger-man's using the hostage to stop All Might in his tracks! a dirty villain move!"
All Might dramatically raised his fist, as if deciding whether to charge forward. The children in the crowd all gasped unsure of what was going to happen.
"You won't get anyway with this, surrender Immediately!"
All might shouted, taking a stance when el ginger man was still holding onto me. Meanwhile, el ginger lightly tightened his grip on me while taking his own stance.
"One wrong move and I'll spray this kid with my ginger juice, All Might!"
"And you call you're self a villain? You're nothing but a coward!"
El ginger growled, subtly pushing my back, simultaneously All Might right hand, invisible to the crowd, subtly curled two fingers, asking me to come forward, I, as a seven month old, of course ignored them and stood still.
"Fine I'll fight you fair and square, All might!"
Realizing I had no plans on moving, el ginger ran past me towards All Might, raising his fist back, he shift his torso aiming for the face. All Might caught his fist and shot back with his own attack.
(edit)
"Carolina Smash!"
"Ginger punch!"
A weak gust of wind blew past me, not from the power of his punch, rather a wind quirk. All might's true quirk is unknown but I've never thought it'd be a wind quirk.
They continued trading blows, el ginger was failing to keep up. Until finally All Might landed a punch onto his stomach, making el ginger dramatically fall to his knees.
"Damn you All Might... You win this round, but don't think this is the end of..." El ginger stopped mid sentence, seemingly passing out. All Might walked over to me and patted my head.
"You are so brave young man! Not many would stay so strong in the face of danger. Thanks to you're courage we we're able to stop that villain without anyone getting hurt!"
I was too nervous to reply, so I just nodded my head, looking down and tapped my fingers together.
(edit)
All Might as a gentleman took the opportunity to wave at the crowd while walking behind stage. The announcer walked up to me and, not that I could read it, handed me a 5 dollar coupon for the concession stand.
"And there you have it, folks! All Might, the Symbol of Peace, triumphs against evil once again! El ginger's dastardly plot is foiled, and our brave young hero escapes unharmed! Let's hear it for All Might, showing us that justice and courage will always prevail, no matter the odds! Thank you, All Might, for saving the day!" The announcer started the applause and bowed before the crowd.
As I was walking down the stage, I noticed something unusual, A man in All Might's costume was holding All Might head on the side of waist.
All Might is a fake.
The fight between him and El ginger was fake.
My life is ruined.
I walked back to my father and handed him the mysterious paper. He took one look at it, put it into his pocket, and carried me out of the amusement part without stopping by the concession stand.
Sato took me to the park next and sat on the bench, instantly scrolling on his phone instead of watching me. The stairs of the playground equipment were half my height, making it slightly difficult to climb them. I only went up and down the slide twice, moving over to the sand box as someone had left a shovel and bucket there.
I spent about 30 minutes until Sato walked over, picked me up, and we took the train back home, all without saying anything.
I wasn't really surprised, he had only took me out so he could say he took me out. Not because he wanted to go out with me. He knew my nature well enough to predict I'd stay silent regardless.
On the last day of Sato's break, he got an email for an interview as a cashier at a 7/11 in the next city over. Excluding myself no one was home, so soon as he saw it he started jumping for joy and scheduling the interview ASAP.
It was a minimum wage job, but enough to give some hope to a man who believes he has next to nothing left for himself. With his new found happiness, he was finally out of his depressive mood, fitting some time into his day to play with and work out at home.
The interview was at 2pm on a Saturday, he left leaving me with Hana on her day off.
Arriving back home not even an hour later with a smile on his face.
"I got the job!" He yelled opening the front door.
"T-that's amazing news Sato! Tell me all about it!" Hana replied a little startled by his eagerness, but nonetheless happy herself.
"Apparently the last full-time clerk was killed in a freak villain attack on his way to work, They needed someone to replace him as soon as possible."
"Oh... That's kind of dark. But who cares you got job, WOO HOO! Let's celebrate with some cake!" She quickly changed the topic.
"Hahaha, sounds like fun to me. Oh, before I forget I should mention that I actually start working on Monday, tomorrow. We'll have to start sending Kiyotaka to the daycare again."
"Way ahead of you." She had already contacted the daycare.
Time skipping forward around four months.
Sato became much less depressed when he started working at 7/11, still noticeably gloomier than he was at his previous job, but he had semi recovered from his depressed state.
Nevertheless, he still had a mild dislike for me, shown only whenever Hana wasn't around. Steadily growing worse with each passing day.
I'm not really sure what's going on, but I noticed he munches on these gummies in secret that seem to make him all giggly and overly friendly for a little bit. He likes to hide them away from me in Hana, I wonder what that's all about.
Recently, he's been arriving home fashionably late and Hana's been venting to me about it.
"He's still not back yet?" She asked to no one in particular.
Putting down the toy car I've been absent mindedly moving back and forth. I turned towards her and stared without saying anything.
"Hey Kiyopon, what do you think Sato's doing right now?"
Not expecting a serious answer, she laid down next to me waiting for me to talk.
"um, work?"
"No, that's not it. His shift ended at 5:00 pm, it's already 6:15 pm and he's not back yet. It only took him 20-30 minutes before to get home, but he keeps showing up late and lying about why."
"maybe he go eat ice cream in secwet," I put my finger on my cheek.
"You think so?"
"yea."Hana leaned up with a small sigh before crossing her legs gracefully. She stood
"I wasn't really worried about him cheating on me. After all, he's not the type of person who would, or... could do so."
"huh."
"I'm worried he may be doing something illegal instead, that'd be really bad."
She kept mumbling her thoughts aloud, forgetting I was still here.
"All right It's settled, I'm going spying on him tomorrow."
I dropped Kiyotaka off at a friends house.
I learned the address of Sato work by looking through his email, I haven't been there yet so I'm heading out a bit early. Sato didn't tell me before, I noticed while looking at it on google maps, but the 7/11 he works in is actually in the red light district.
Shinjuku city is real popular area for heroes to go patrolling, meaning safety isn't a big issue. That doesn't include the Kabukichō, there probably won't be many heroes entering there. It's not exactly the most child friendly place, I should leave as quickly as I can.
I took the train all the way to the Shinjuku and there's one more bus to Kabukichō.
My brilliant plan is to sit in the Café directly across the convenience store and follow Sato with a mask and glasses when he exits. The bus dropped me off in the walking distance, I should hurry.
It was 4:45 pm when I had made it, there not much time before his shifts ends.
"There it is..."
I walked directly into the Café and ordered some coffee for myself, which I didn't drink, while watching the 7/11 for the next 15 minutes until he walked out the front doors.
He left at 5 pm on the dot.
Stealthily I begun following him from a distance.
As the doors closed behind him he stopped for a moment, pulling out his phone to check something. Pushing it back into his pocket, Sato walked at a leisurely pace down the street, passing the bus stop and some other no name buildings.
Looks like I might catch him doing something.
After wandering for a bit, he found a quieter part of town Taking a right on the corner, when he glanced around to not draw attention, I quickly hid behind some street sign.
Walking into the alleyway, I tip toed after him, peeking my head around the corner, only to spot him on his phone by the dumpster waiting for someone or something.
Loitering by a dumpster with your phone in hand? That's suspicious enough to be illegal. Is he waiting for someone to come? If so, I should probably move to not get sandwiched.
As I was about to leave, I spotted someone walked from the other end of the alley.
The man who appeared looked about a foot taller than Sato, a relatively large build, and black hoodie, unfortunately I wasn't close enough to tell what they were saying. He handed Sato a small plastic bag in return for some cash and looked in my direction.Shit.
"Who the fuck are you?!"
Perhaps because of his quirk, the man was far too fast for me to run away. He grabbed my arm, throwing me at the wall, and jump kicked me straight in the stomach.
"Puuufhaa" The air in my lungs was knocked out.
My sunglasses were knocked off and my mask fell down below my chin.
"A chick? You with the popo?!"
Sato seeing my face and current state, eyes spread open, and started to panic.
The dealer reached for my neck, but before he could touch me, Sato charged towards us.
"D-don't t-touch her!"
He screamed as he threw himself at the man, but it was easily sidestepped. In desperation, Sato swung his fist, aiming for the face, instead accidentally pulling down his hoodie, so we could both see his face, which was showing slight surprise --- turned into anger.
Grabbing Sato's collar, and with no difficulty, he slammed him face-first into the concrete. In an futile attempt to stop himself from dying, Sato raised his arms to protecting his head from the cold concrete floor.
He wasn't fast enough.
*CRUNCH*
The sound of his skull breaking was petrifying.
"AAAAHHHHHHHHHHH" I screamed at the top of my lungs.
Sato was right next time, blood leaking from his head, spilling onto the sidewalk. He lied there, completely motionless, was he dead? It wasn't even a fight, Sato was simply so much weaker that his opponent had no difficulty eliminating him.
There wasn't any time to think, I hopelessly sprinted as fast as I could away from him. I knew it was useless, but I had no other choice, my baby was waiting for me.
"Where the fuck, do you think you're going bitch!"
Predictably, I was grabbed by the hair before I could exit the alleyway.
Instead of attacking me, the dealer froze looking to the right at the massive figure appearing in front of us, with black and white skin similar to an orca, and almost seven feet tall.
(edit)
"Y-y-you're---"
Mid-sentence, the man was cut off by a powerful kick, launching him backwards as his nose gushed with blood. Gang Orca looked behind me at the unmoving body and with an unfazed expression, pressed his fingers on Sato's neck to check his pulse.
"Are you alright, miss?"
"O-o-oh, Uhm... Is S-saato alive?" I ignored his question, asking what was more urgent.
Gang Orca glanced at me.
"Sorry..." He spoke, not looking at me.
Responding much more quietly compared to before, he walked over to the alive, but limp body of the criminal still bleeding profusely.
Whatever, that didn't matter to me anymore.
Sato....Sato was dead.
Gang Orca answered my question, it was clear he was gone forever.
Hyperventilating, my vision blurred as my heart pounded uncontrollably. I clutched my chest, struggling to breathe. I barely noticed Gang Orca approaching, his phone pressed to his ear. Then, everything went black as I fainted.
She's late.

Ch 3 End
This story isn't going to be super fast passed, I plan to have a few chapters each until he hits the 'prime' age before retiring my timeskips.
Some do take a bit of time to make, but I really like adding shitty edits into these chapters, lemme know if you like them.I'll also eventually be adding actual art, like the cover drawing that I may redraw at some point, to moments I really like, no promises tho.
my longest chapter so far, kiyo recaps his fathers issues, goes to an amusement part as a suspicously grown 7 month old, and then his parents gets beat up, I was going to make it longer but decided against it cause I don't really care about the oc's.
if u notice any inconsistences do point them out thanks.
