Chapter 12 - Chapter 12

"What are you going to do now?" I said, looking at Illyana who was changing her clothes. She was wearing a dress suit, very different from the kind she normally wore.

"I want to talk to my brother. He's living in an institute in Westchester County. I just want to make sure he's okay... and give him some news," said Illyana, with a slight hint of concern in her voice.

I watched her for a moment before casually commenting: "Wong told me that your brother is an X-Men."

Illyana looked at me in surprise. "So you already know? He told me I should keep it a secret."

I laughed at the expression on her face. "You're so cute," I commented, getting up and walking towards her. After a brief kiss, I watched as she walked away towards the portal.

Before she disappeared, I caught a glimpse of the iconic X-Men mansion on the other side. "It's... strange to believe that I'm actually in the Marvel world," I muttered, as the portal finally closed.

The silence that remained in the room was unusual; this was perhaps the first time in three years that I had felt truly alone.

The reflection of my face was slightly ahead of the city skyline, where it was possible to see Stark Industries and Avengers Tower. "What are we going to do now?" I said, looking deep into my eyes.

Now that I was alone, I moved one of the armchairs in the room to the window. Looking out at the view of New York City, I began to navigate between the windows of my system.

Until that moment, I still didn't quite understand how this information could be useful. The values that appeared rose seemingly at random as I trained at Kamar-Taj. However, this didn't seem to get me very far.

None of the lessons at Kamar-Taj mentioned the use of Mana or how to measure a magical attribute. Even so, I knew that, compared to ordinary humans, my ability to cast spells and connect with magic was much higher than average. To measure this, it wasn't a question of numbers. You had to look at someone and see their aura - something that only magic could reveal, not simple data.

Another thing that didn't make sense to me was what exactly defined my percentage of life. 0% meant I was dead, that was simple to understand. But how was I supposed to interpret the decrease in this percentage? Was it something like blood loss? It didn't seem to make sense.

To make matters worse, the [Glossary] skill didn't work with skills and functions from my own system, only with external information from the world. As such, I didn't have much information other than what appeared in the windows and descriptions I had already received.

Up to this moment, all the system's skills were tied to my past life as a man of culture. The reader system felt somewhat similar to Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint.

The [Fanservice] skill probably facilitated my relationship with Illyana, no... I spent years by Illyana's side, maybe that was a cheat, but our feelings for each other are true.

Leaning back in the armchair, I looked up at the clouds. "Yeah... I'm feeling guilty about that"

The [Fanservice] skill made it easier to build a harem, which meant that when I got a new wife, I wouldn't have to fear for my life. Which is a good thing to think about, given that my girlfriend is the queen of a dark dimension and has a sword capable of cutting through almost anything.

"That's a narrative plot hole..." I sighed, my essence as a reader could recognize an incongruity in a world. "Well, that doesn't matter now, I can literally open portals and create pizzas with my bare hands"

The other skills that remained in my tree were more of a catalog than a proper description. I had [Sorcerer Knowledge LV15], a skill that gradually increased as my years as a student went by.

Another point that made me curious was the intelligence points. "If I increase my intelligence to level 30, I can unlock a translation skill. That's useful"

However, I didn't know how to increase my intelligence points even further. If studying non-stop for three years wasn't enough to reach thirty points, I had no idea what could improve this attribute.

"Perhaps it would be more efficient to join the X-Men and ask Professor Xavier to add a few languages to my mind. I remember he used to be able to do that with foreign mutants," I said aloud as I stretched.

The day was barely half over, but my stomach was already hungry. Well, I'd done a lot of exercise. Since my girlfriend isn't around, I think the best thing I can do is explore a bit more of the city.

An idea quickly popped into my head: "I've been eating ice cream for six years now..."

...

Holding out my hands, I tried to use the portal ability I had received after having sex with Illyana Rasputin. Unlike the sorcerers' flaming thread, Lya's portal ability didn't require a conjuration time. "I still can't use teleportation... That could be a problem"

I continued to run some tests, creating four portals. They appeared almost instantly in front of me, as if it were a skill with a reduced cooldown. "As I thought, just imagining an ice cream parlor doesn't lead me to one"

Another advantage of this skill was that I didn't have to concentrate so hard to open these dimensional rifts. Just imagining where I wanted the portal to appear was enough, knowing the location was enough. As I hadn't explored New York enough, my only option was to walk to the nearest ice cream parlor.

Reaching into my pockets, I confirmed that I had my hotel card and my cell phone. Then I went out through a doorway into the alley two blocks from the Stark Hotel.

"That's very useful," I said, arriving at the sidewalk where dozens of people were going back and forth.

The nearest ice cream parlor was called Frostymorning.

The first thing I noticed when I woke up was a gooey feeling all over my body. My hands, feet and legs were enveloped in black goo. Glued to the floor, I felt a shiver run up my back as I tried to understand what was happening.

My mouth was bound by a gag made of the same gooey material that immobilized me. Even as I struggled with all my might, I couldn't break free.

Suddenly, the voice of someone I could only describe as a "milf" echoed through the room. "So you're finally awake," she said.
