"Then we might lose her." Leon's face scrunched in bewilderment as he stared at Xander.
Leon asked, "What do you mean?"
Xander heaved a sigh, I was tired that he didn't even have enough strength for a conversation this night but he brought it up on himself. He replied, "What I mean is that she might never get used to being here."
"That's a good reason." Leon said and shrugged his shoulders.
"Next week make sure you show her the interesting places." Xander said.
Leon grinned at Xander's words and said, "I hope she wouldn't end up running away,"
"Good night, Xander." Leon muttered and smiled at him again before he left to his room.
The next morning, Anna had woken up quite late. She glanced at the alarm clock at her bedside and saw it was already past eight. She got up from her bed, washed up and wore a simple short and baggy white shirt.
She went downstairs, to the dining table and spotted Andrew and Alexa already seated eating their breakfast.
They must be famished after going to bed hungry yesterday night.
Leon came out of the kitchen and gave her a warm smile.
He greeted, "Good morning, Anna. How was your night?"
She couldn't deny her night was awesome because she hadn't woken up in the middle of the night for once and had woken up late also.
She returned his smile and replied, "Good morning, my night was fine."
Anna walked to the dining table and sat down beside Alexa.
"Good morning." Alexa mouthed with food stuffed in her mouth.
Andrew's teasing voice came next before she could respond to Alexa, "Good morning, beauty."
"Good morning." Anna replied.
As always Xander was absent and also the other girl who was angry after seeing her yesterday.
Leon had eaten breakfast before she came down and Alexa and Andrew had accompanied Anna for some minutes before they finished their breakfast and left Anna all by herself.
After breakfast, Anna went to her room and decided to find something to do before lunch.
The sluggish morning, dragged on but eventually it was time for anna's lunch in the city. The clock struck one in the afternoon and her lunch was by 2 pm.
She wore an off-shoulder pastel pink top showcasing her elegant shoulders with high-waisted white pants and sneakers.
She tied her hair into a bun unlike the ponytail she carried since when she arrived at the supernaturals' territory. She didn't bother to put on makeup not that she ever did before unless Georgia forced her.
She paired her dressing style with a sleek white crossbody bag and went downstairs to find Leon.
She saw Leon waiting for her by the front door.
His dressing was casual but he still looked handsome. He wore a white shirt and black pants with his blonde hair combed to the front.
He was the first to speak, "We should get going."
She just nodded as they made their way outside.
She felt like she was going on her first date and she couldn't help as her cheeks flushed red.
It took an hour before they finally got to the location Georgia had sent to her last night.
"Chaleureusement bienvenue à La Maison bleue, beau couple." A steward came forward to welcome them in french with a warm smile on his face.
Anna stared at him in confusion since she didn't understand french.
The steward seeing Anna's face scrunched in bewilderment only smiled more and said, "Welcome to La Maison bleue, beautiful couple." His French accent coated in his English.
Anna quickly shook her head wanting to correct the mistake the steward had made referring Leon has her boyfriend but before she could speak she heard a familiar voice call her.
"Anna," Georgia came to their side and hugged Anna. "Thought you might have a last minute change of mind." Anna smiled at her friend's words.
"This place is beautiful." Anna commented when Georgia pulled away from her.
"It is indeed." Georgia said looking at the interior, she looked at Leon and acknowledged his presence for the first time. "Thank you for bringing her."
"It's my pleasure." Leon spoke like a gentle man with a warm smile on his face.
Georgia spoke,"The guys are waiting."
Georgia led them to a private room where the guys waited. As they entered they could feel the lively atmosphere in the air as the place was filled with laughter.
"Anna is here." Georgia announced as the guys turned to look at her.
Anna walked to where the three guys in the room sat.
"I thought you wouldn't come." Gabriel, the one with dirty blonde hair was the one to speak, making Anna roll her eyes.
Anna sat next to Georgia who had taken a seat when they entered while Leon took the seat next to Anna.
Anna's gaze met with a pair of black eyes. Her mood just turned sour seeing Gabriel had invited Alex here.
"You didn't tell me he would be here." Anna's gaze went to Gabriel as Gabriel tried his best to avoid her sharp gaze.
Alex said, "Didn't expect you to come on a weekend."
Anna rolled her eyes and replied sharply, "If I had known I'd see you here I wouldn't bother coming."
Alex's gaze went to the handsome guy sitting next to Anna and asked, "Who is the guy?"
Anna wasn't in the mood to answer his questions and just looked away.
"Leon," Leon introduced himself with a smile on his face as he stretched his hand forward to shake Alex.
Alex took his hands and shook it and introduced himself, "Alex."
Leon raised his eyebrows at the name and smiled because he remembered one of his and Anna's conversation about this person.
Alex and the others had caught the smile, Alex asked, "Why are you smiling?"
"Anna had mentioned you before." Leon didn't lie with his smile still intact on his face.
The gazes of everyone fell on Anna as Anna's gaze rested on Leon with her eyes narrowed slightly.
"My name is Gabriel and this is Anthony." Gabriel introduced himself.
"It seems you know each other?" The third guy with brown hair asked suddenly.
The question caught Anna off-guard as she hadn't thought about what leon was to her.
She tried to reason about what to say, her teeth pressed on her bottom lip.
Gabriel commented, "I've never seen him before."
The tension in the room grew as Anna and Georgia thought about what lie they could come up with.
Anna's voice trailed, "He's..."
"I'm Anna's brother." Leon intervened which made Anna snap her head at Leon.
Brother...
"You never mentioned having a brother." Alex was the first to speak, suspicion lurking his black eyes.
Anna's cold voice replied, "Have I ever mentioned anything to you."
"Let's forget about Anna's brother. Let's order; I'm damn hungry." Georgia intervened trying to end the building tension.
It was then a waiter entered and bowed at them.
"Bonne après- midi" The waiter greeted. "What will you like to order?" His English fluent unlike the steward that had mistaken Leon as Anna's boyfriend.
Anna picked up the menu and so as the others.
The others placed their order meanwhile, Anna who didn't know what exactly she could order asked, "Could you recommend your best dish?"
"All our dishes are the best." The waiter replied with a smile.
"Let me order for you." Leon offered and looked at his menu.
"Je voudrais commander le coq au vin avec des pommes de terre à l'ail en accompagnement et la crème brûlèe comme dessert pour madam et moi." Leon spoke to the waiter in french, his French very fluent which surprised the others on the table especially Anna.
The waiter smiled and replied,"C'est une excellente choix, monsieur. Je vais passer votre commande." Then, he left.
Gabriel commented, "Your french seems exceptionally good."
"Spent a couple of years over there." Leon said with a smile.
Anna looked at Leon again who looked back at her and smiled.
'I thought he said he hadn't eaten French food before' Anna thought
"How much does this place even cost?" Georgia was the one to ask.
"Did you spend all your savings for this meal?" Anna asked
Gabriel coughed a few times and looked in Alex's direction.
Gabriel and Anna were in the same class and they've been friends for a long while. Anna knew he could afford to pay for their meal but to pay for a private room?
Gabriel smiled awkwardly at Anna and murmured, "I just earned some money."
Her arms crossed, her jaw clenched in skepticism, she asked, "And decided to spend all for just lunch with friends?"
"Why not?" Gabriel was trying to remain composed under Anna's scrutinizing gaze.
The atmosphere became less tense when their food came. They were all served the food they ordered.
"J' espère que vous apprècierez votre repaz," The waiter said to Leon in particular. "I hope you enjoy your meal." He said to the rest, translating what he said to Leon then bowed slightly and departed.
Anna asked Leon, "What did you order?"
Leon replied, "Coq au vin with garlic mashed potatoes."
Anna's eyes widened as she took her first bite, "Taste heavenly! What's in the sauce?"
"Red wine, onions, mushroom and a hint of thyme," Leon replied, smiling.
"I wish I ordered your dish, Anna." Georgia complained, not satisfied with what she ordered.
The aroma of French cuisines filled the air but the scent of garlic and thyme filled the air making Georgia salivate.
Anna asked, "Don't you like your meal?"
Georgia who had ordered only pasta and sauce because of lack of appetite awhile ago was now ready to full her stomach but not with pasta.
Georgia shook her head and pulsed her lips making Anna chuckle because of how cute she looked right now.
Georgia leaned in to whisper something to Anna as she smiled more, they both stood up from their seats at the same time.
Anna said to Leon, "I'll be right back." Seeing Leon's narrowed eyes she quickly said, "I'm just going to the bathroom."
The other guys couldn't help but notice the exchange between the two which sounded intimate.
