Three weeks has passed since I joined at the café. I am still waking up late, feeling lazy and sleepy when the alarm rings, But now I've got a reason to get out of bed. Felix come's with me to the café everyday, and as usual spews out rude bratty comments chilling from the windowsill or the counter.
I've somewhat learned the intricate details of being a barista as I spend more time with Luna. Life somehow feels a little warmer even in my desolate cold world. I wonder why....
Only a day remains until my Suspension ends. So, tomorrow I will have to descend to hell once again. At least I've got Felix this time to support me.
**Next Morning**
University is gonna suck due to month long exile, still I've got some hope.
Walking into the campus feels like I am treading enemy territory in some grand war where everyone wants burry me.
I make my way to class, as soon as I step inside people star to whisper to each other, but no one speaks to me.
I look around and find the usual group of idiots surrounding the dumbass Schneizel. He glances at me but quickly looks down as he's swallowed up by guilt.
I find myself a distant lone seat away from everyone in a corner and sit down with Felix beside me.
"Sven, it looks like these people consider you a outcast now, Huh..?"
"Of course Felix. I am the man who got suspended and hence a outcast."
"Schneizel is still enjoying himself with his friends laughing with no care in the world."
"Let him be, Felix. There is nothing we can do. What would you do? Scratch him with your paws?"
"Hmmm.... Seems its better to be alone rather than socializing with people who are gonna talk behind you're back."
"Yeah, Its better this way."
"Hey, Sven.... You've got a friend though."
"Who..?"
"Luna, you dumbass... Did you forget her.?"
I get flustered just thinking about her, she's been living in my mind rent free for the past week.
"Oh, Sven... Stop blushing, its creeping me out."
"What would you know Felix... Her beautiful pearl like amber eyes, a smile that can make anyone go speechless and She's like a-"
"Stop it Sven, I know, I know.... She's like a Angel from the heavens, right..?"
"Felix, you little runt"
Classes go by and time flies. I come outside once the the classes end and find myself a good lonely spot in the garden in the campus. There's a large tree there, a good place to just sit out.
"Felix.... uhh.... I am sooo bored."
"We've got two more hours for your World changing barista job, Sven."
"Oh shut up, Felix."
I doze off in the shade of the tree and Felix also takes a nap on my lap.
"Sven!, Hellooo!!, Sven!.... You in there?"
Its Luna, She caught me by surprise, How did she even find me here..?
"Luna!!??.... Uhh... Umm Hello."
"Why are you sleeping here?"
"I was kinda bored and just took a nap."
"You sleep when you're bored!?"
"Yeah... I guess so."
She pouts and glares at me with a angry face.
"Sven, lets go out and get something to eat. I am hungry."
Huh, whaaat?! Did she just invite me to hangout with her. I look at Felix, who's now awake.
"You're in luck, you brat. Lets go!." He says while climbing on my shoulder.
We get out of the campus and go to nearby bakery. She seems to be excited and full of energy. Contrary to me lazy, sulky and lame excuse for a personality.
"Luna, what are you gonna get?"
"Warm fresh bread, of course." She says grinning like a happy kid.
We get the bread in a small paper bag and head out to a nearby park, She sits down in a bench facing a small pond with some ducks in it.
"Come, sit down Sven." She taps on the bench signalling me to sit beside her.
"Sure."
"You seem sad, Sven. What happened..?"
"Oh no... its nothing."
"Tell me!! Or else you get no bread!"
"Fine...."
"My classmates don't even look me in the eye, everyone of them ignores me. Well I wouldn't blame them. I am just a ugly brute who got himself suspended in their eyes."
"Sven, Stop looking down on yourself!. They just don't see the real you."
"Maybe.... But I hate myself, I am pathetic. I create my own problems and burry myself in them. I've got no talent, No use, Nothing. Not even a reason to live."
"Sven!!.... You're a good person. I know it. You're my friend and I like you for who you are and not who you could be. If No one Understands you, No one likes you... If No one, I will."
"Thanks Luna, I... I do-"
She stuff a loaf of bread in my mouth looking at me with a angry yet caring smile.
"Stop talking and taste some of this. Isn't this a good enough reason to live."
I swallow that loaf and look at her, she's pouting and glares at me as if she's angry over me for saying all that.
"I love bread and I want to have more of it." She says smiling cutely.
She's innocent, careless and playful yet she's happy.
"Luna.... Its almost time for our Shift... I think we've a job to be at."
"Oh no!!.... We're late, Hurry up Sven. Lets go!"
